I went to the restaurant as I was leaving Myrtle beach, it was me my parents and girlfriend. First the soft drinks are not bottomless and only the coffee and sweet tea are, my mom asked for her bacon to not be crispy and the waitress said she was just being honest and that the cooks would cook the bacon however they wanted. This is no hate to the waitress because she was very nice and upfront but I think they should cook your food how you want it, my girlfriend ordered the chicken biscuit and it came out burnt so they took it off the bill and she got the ham biscuit as a replacement. We were not informed it was country ham so when it came out my girlfriend tried a bite and didn’t like how salty it was so she didn’t eat it. The waitress told us she would take it off of the bill which was very nice but when I went to pay she told me the manager wanted to talk to me because she wanted me to pay for the biscuit, when she came out I informed her I would not be paying for the biscuit and she told me she would be calling the police and tried to take the receipt that the waitress gave me where she had taken off the biscuit. Also the whole staff was fighting in the kitchen someone saying “I’m not afraid of you” screaming and breaking things. There was also a woman who had to wait 25 minutes for her food and when she demanded a refund they did not want to give her one and suggested she just take the food. The bathroom is a 1 person bathroom without a lock so you have no room to move around or wash your hands without bumping into someone or urinating on them. Overall this was a trashy experience except for our waitress who was tipped nicely she was the only one in this establishment who was professional and seemed to care about the customers. If I could give 0...
Read moreThe mgr/owner (whomever he may be) white hair, 60s, was one of the most rudest mgrs/owners of a restaurant we’ve ever encountered. Their waitress asked if it were 2 tabs at end of the meal, we clearly stated -YES, 2 tabs please! Upon checking out, the cashier said we can separate it because our registers just went down! We said, ok well what do you suggest? She volunteered to calculate anything! Lol. We had to get out phones out to calculate and asked her what her tax % bracket was so we could add our taxes as well. Mgr/owner said, what’s the problem? We kindly explained what we were trying to do when his help offered no help to solve the issue and he said, we can’t help it mam our registers went down and we said to him, sir, well it’s not our fault either (your patrons!) he slammed (2) $20 bills in my hand that were our friends cash amt they guessed was due and he proceeded to say, and just don’t bother ever coming back here again! I relayed to him quickly and said, thank you sir, no fear of that - we will NEVER return to this filthy restaurant. Food was absolutely at best, AVERAGE, If you could overlook the filthy surroundings and I even had to ask for a new glass of tea because the room of glass was not even cleaned, greasy smudged leftover food smears on it. The inky reason for trying this filthy restaurant was because HOSKINS was closed! Spread the word people - don’t bother to try this place, thank goodness for Google reviews! The only plus to this experience is that our so-so food and our guests food was on the house - AND IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN - due to service, quality of food, cleanliness and lack of manager skills and manners. Get a register that works sir, it’s not your...
Read moreSo we have been enjoying Golden Griddle several times a year for the past almost 40 years. But I’m afraid our visits will have to stop. This morning we attempted to use the Monster coupon online and was told they only accept the paper coupon. There was no notice of this policy. They said there was a sign on the door at one time but it is not there any longer. When I asked to speak to a manager, a woman named Diane identified herself as an owner and she also refused to honor the coupon. Now I’m really not that upset at losing a 10% discount which only came to about $3. As it is said, it is the principle. But 1) when I told Diane I had been coming there for forty years, she said “Well, I’ve been here 40 years and haven’t seen you.” That comment was totally unacceptable, unappreciated and showed very poor customer service. 2) I got the coupon from the Golden Griddle online site itself. I’m appalled that they would not honor their own coupon. Is this not considered false advertising? 3) I looked up Monster and found an app which I downloaded. Lo and behold, the Golden Griddle coupon was there as well. There were no stipulations to use only a paper coupon. 4) Why, when the whole world is going digital, would they go back to using a paper coupon? We have been using the Monster book coupons for many years and, yes, we cut them out faithfully to use for dining, attractions, and activities. When the Golden Griddle coupon became available online a couple years ago, this 70 year old lady began to become more adept at using her phone for this convenience. And since I am so old, I have no problem taking my business elsewhere. Even though and all my children and I have...
