Nick's New York Pub — Restaurant in North Myrtle Beach

I've eaten here twice. The first time food was ok. Second time was a disaster! I ordered a Billy Crystal which is a patty melt sandwich. It came with 2 sides. I picked cole slaw and a baked potato. The cole slaw was very dry and after 2 bites I found a hair in it! The baked potato was tiny and tasted like it was leftover from several days before and reheated in the microwave. My sandwich wasn't much better. The burger was almost raw on one side and VERY dry on the other side. The onions were mostly raw (they're supposed to be grilled) and the bread wasn't grilled either. I tried to contact the manager but just got the run around. On top of that I never received a receipt so had no proof of order except the charge on my card. I’m only giving them one star because Jodi made a good Margarita. My husband and I walked into the restaurant and Jodi did not greet us. We sat at the bar and she made our drinks for us. I tried to start a conversation with her, but she was very short and dry with us. She showed her other customers more attention than us. I don’t like to point out racism, but every African American person that came into the restaurant was shown very little attention too. To put the icing on the cake, Jodi ordered her food, and instead of going to the break room to eat she ate her food at the bar right in front of us! Everyplace was packed and even at 5 pm we couldn't find a restaurant that could take a table of 7 till 9 pm. So, a nice local recommended Nick's New York Pub & Grill. Nothing fancy on the inside BUT the food was great! I will take great food over decor any day; after we spent over $350 for 7 people the night before on the strip for a so-so dinner we spent less then half for a much better meal. The portions were hearty, the food fresh, homemade sauces and both our seafood and chicken dishes were cooked perfectly! Our server Brandy was very nice and attentive even though she was busy.
