This was my first and last time to Mix & Mac Kitchen aka I
Read moreI'm ashamed to say this is my first time being to this restaurant. I say ashamed because it's just so damn good and I don't know why I hadn't come in sooner 😭
The staff is SO kind and welcoming and the food is delicious. They let us take our time to read the menu and order even though others were in line. The food came out quick and was super hot. Everything tasted fresh!!
The Mac was cooked perfectly. I was afraid the noodles might be under or overcooked but they were perfect. They give you a TON of sauce and toppings within your bowl. I did a combo and got the naan dippers. YALL. SO GOOD. I should have ordered some to go! 😭 The naan was so soft and fluffy. The Tikka Masala.... Just wow. Lots of spice and SO flavorful. Of everything the naan dippers were by far my favorite- and that's saying a lot because everything I tried was delicious. Just so so SO good. The Cuban grilled cheese was also delicious. It came out steaming hot 🤤 Get the parmesan crust on your bread!! Adds a bit of extra cheese and really elevates the sandwich. The tomato soup was excellent. The tater tots were hot and crispy with a soft center. The Mac and cheese bites were just perfect too, crispy exterior with soft and gooey Mac on the inside.
They have so many options and a large menu. There is something for everything, soup, salads, Mac and cheese, flatbreads, and grilled cheese. Lots of desserts too! They also do catering orders so keep that in mind if you are feeding a lot of people!
You can tell they have passion and love for what they do. We are already planning for a trip back. It was a perfect birthday lunch for my sister who is a mac and cheese fanatic. Thank...
Read moreStopped by Mix and Mac for lunch, because who can resist mac and cheese with fancy toppings, right? Well… turns out I could’ve resisted this one. I really wanted to love it — the concept sounded great! Unfortunately, the execution just didn’t live up to the menu descriptions.
I ordered the Short Rib Philly Mac and Cheese Bowl, which, according to the menu, should’ve been a glorious, gooey mash-up of comfort food dreams. Instead, I got a bowl that played the world’s saddest game of hide-and-seek. I searched high and low for the short rib and found—wait for it—not much short rib. At first I thought it might be under the pasta but no, not there. As I sifted through the pasta, I realized there was so little meat, it might as not have been there at all. And the mushrooms? One. Singular. Mushroom. The onions? Raw, not caramelized, so they crunched louder than my disappointment.
My Sweetie tried the Jalapeño Popper Mac and Cheese, and it had the same problem—bacon so scarce it could’ve been an urban legend.
Now, to be fair, the naan bread and garlic cheese bread were chef’s kiss good, and the cheesy tots were solid. Also, big shoutout to the owners — super nice folks — and the place itself was spotless, which definitely counts for something these days.
Oh, and a note for my fellow tea drinkers: they don’t have brewed tea. They do have Gold Peak fountain tea, but it already has lemon in it. I’m sorry, but if I wanted lemon in my tea, I’d add it myself.
Bottom line: come for the carbs, stay for the bread, enjoy the friendly vibes — but as for the mac? Might go back, might not....
