Friendly but clueless service. Our waitress was nice but not very smart in terms of process. A couple examples to factor for yourself:
After waiting ten minutes for our water and sodas, she shows up at our table tells me she accidentally gave my water away. No big deal, except she didn’t go get it then. We watched her get two more trays of drinks, delivery them to other tables, take multiple orders and finally bring me my water another 10-12 minutes later.
We ordered our food along with sides like salad that should have come earlier than the food. We inquired if we could have our salad and soups before the food, she said yes. She then brought my wife her salad and soup but not mine.
I asked for my soup to which she told me mine had already been served and was in my plate so she didn’t bring it, of course, that means part of my dinner was sitting on a pass getting cold along with my soup.
Our dinner finally came. My soup was cold and congealed. I had asked for no cheese on top of the bake potato soup given cheese dislike. She never mentioned - although I can blame the menu too - that unlike the menu the soup was not cream but cheese based as well. I would not have ordered it.
I had to snare her five minutes later when she finally came by to ask for a spoon. She seemed annoyed with with request, but really, should I use the fork for soup.
I never got my other side ordered and included with my meal.
She came back to ask if we needed condiments or things after we had had our food for fifteen minutes. Not so useful.
Because things were so slow, we finished up and went with the kids to target while the wife settled the check. The waitress arrived, realized she brought her the wrong check, crushed it up. Did she bring the correct one right back? Of course not. My wife said she watched her run off, go clean two other tables, make passes to some other tables then only when my wife was able to snare her to request, again, the proper check as she had obviously immediately forgot about getting it.
We were not demanding and of the no worries category, but all the waiting, the non sensible delivery of items, watching the waitress not solve her mistakes and focusing on other lower priority items, cold congealed food and missing items add up to a terrible experience,
After previous good experience, I rate this one a total bummer. Someone in management needs to ensure that staff - and I understand they are hard to find - are properly trained as it’s cleAr that common sense isn’t Automatic.
P.s. avoid the Steiner bock fish and chips. They have like two gallons of undercooked batter on them. I love fish and chips, these were terrible. I ate one of three pieces and didn’t take he rest home...
Read moreWe will be going to the Cotton Patch off Davis and N Tarrant (near Target and behind Walmart) from now on. Although we are closer to 377 Cotton Patch, we were treated rudely by the manager there on Father's Day 2023. The workers who were getting us a table near a wall (some in our smaller party of 5 have high stress if seated at a table in the center of a room) were kind but the manager walked up and dismissed their efforts by stating a party of 17 was coming and although most large parties tend to be center, they were going to use the walls. In effort to find something that might work, I was asking how we could be accommodated and was told 5 different times about this "party of 17 on their way". I stated "but we are here right now trying to get a spot and I was informed once before (when wanting to plan a birthday party) that you can't guarantee holding a table so I am trying to see where we can be seated for accommodation purposes, what might work for our needs". For the final time, I was reminded about the number "17". Apparently, I could tell that 17 was going to take the lead over 5 which was miniscule in her perception and matched the way she dismissed our concerns. At that moment, one lady walked in and said "party of 17" so I do not know whether the full 17 came in or not because she was the only one and immediately seated, I was forgotten, and I took my cue to walk out. My husband and I recalled The Cotton Patch near Davis and N Tarrant Parkway so we thought this is a last attempt. We went there and they are AMAZING!!! I have never received the same service on 377 Cotton Patch which we had frequent often. This one was super friendly, sat us at a large roomy booth near a wall that was quiet and perfect (they had way more people too), constant service, order was just right (that was a new experience), and we got 20%off for Father's Day (so we bought desserts for the table). Smile. We got more and they did too. The server was just as sweet as could be and we were treated like we mattered, that our number 5 wasn't a throw-away. So to Cotton Patch company, I say "Cotton Patch near Davis and N Tarrant, kept us as patrons; otherwise, you were almost written off permanently and we are not ever going to 377 again". I am thankful for the good experience we had at Davis/N Tarrant Cotton Patch. They won our hearts....
Read moreWhy do i keep coming back? It was not busy and there were several open tables hostess said ten minute wait. I said to please seat us as my friend just had foot surgery. She left to go get some manager who came out and said well it looks like you are having issues with the hostess. I said no just wish to be seated. No line and plenty of open tables. Started making excuses and said she will seat us but would be 10 minute wait at the table. Others came in and were immediately seated and served. I think this sealed the deal on cotton patch with me. 3/12/23
Last year Food great. Server was good. This review was 8 months back. I gave 4 stars
Today 3/13 was a very disappointing experience. Belinda the hostess sat me and no acknowledgement from a server for almost 10 minutes. I had Belinda return to my table to see what the problem was, and the restaurant was not that busy. She ended up taking my order. In addition. She and the restaurant manager were waiting on other tables.
I finally got to see my server who brought the meal. I looked at the plate that was supposed to be Salmon and fresh steamed vegetables. The carrots were old and dehydrated, white in color. I asked the server to take the plate back to the kitchen and replace the carrots. Plate came back, no carrots. Broccoli and squash only.
I waited tables for several years working my way through college and I consider myself a good judge of service. I own my own company and give great customer service to everyone. I feel the service today was very poor. The food quality should have been checked before it was brought to the table.
The only saving grace today was Belinda
I left Belinda the tip, and I am a very good tipper.

Visited today as I was invited to lunch by some friends. Service has improved greatly but the food quality leaves a lot to be desired. Grilled chicken was dry and obviously prepared a long time prior to serving, then warmed.
Food is not home cooked like advertised. It is obvious that the gravy which I requested after I ate a bite of the overly dry and tasteless chicken was canned, pre-made gravy, as were the geeen beans.
Salad and rolls were okay. ...
