Judy's Donuts — Restaurant in Oakhurst

I shall continue my worldwide donut review tour by saying in no uncertain terms, Judy's Donuts may be the best donuts I've had in the world.

I've had donuts in several major metropolises, from the most famous, the most artisan, or the most base and Judy's stands out amongst all of them.

If you've read my previous donut reviews, you'd know I value humility, sincerity and execution over flash, gimmickry and "premium" components. Judy (assuming she was the woman who served me my 3 selected donuts and some free donut holes) has perfectly executed the platonic ideals of every aspect of practically every donut style. Her yeast risen glazed donut was fluffy, light and practically melted at my first taste. Her custard filled (Boston cream) was probably the best version of that donut I've ever had, from the icing to the filling at its center. The old fashioned was hearty but not overcooked with exquisite but restrained richness.

What is even more impressive to me about Judy's Donuts is that as far as I could tell, her donut shoppe is the closest donut shoppe to the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park by a long stretch. She could easily phone it in with the quality of her product and over charge at that but instead she delivers EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY at a GENEROUS PRICE.

I will gladly return to Judy's...

Everytime we stop off at this little gem of a donut 🍩 store I HAVE to get my favorite ... An Apple 🍎 Fritter. They are so crunchy yet soft and chewy on the inside with soft diced apples and just the right amount of spice or cinnamon or whatever they put into them to make them so DELICIOUS. My mom will get the Old fashion donuts that are glazed & sometimes Buttermilk ones. My Father loves to get the glazed donut holes 🕳 😋 and eat them by the handful right out of the bag. The staff is always so nice and friendly everytime we go in there. Winter spring summer or fall they are always so wonderful here and they put out some delicious donuts and pastries. Whenever we're driving thru or headed to Yosemite or Bass Lake we purposely make a detour here to come get some delicious goodies from this store. 😋 if you haven't tried their donuts here then you owe it to yourself to give them a try. All their donuts feel and taste and remind me of just good old fashion homemade donuts. It's an awesome little store. I can't wait to go back and get me another Apple fritter when we travel thru the area.... Yummy stuff they have...
