Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Ocala

So, typically, I’m the one in the family that loves hungry Howies. I have for a long time now. Even worked for a local one in my teens. Not so much after this. Friday night I place an order for delivery directly through the company website. I reiterate… I ORDERED THROUGH THEIR OWN APP. Where it has the tracking on it. I ordered it as soon as I got off my 12 hour shift. Well I get home and I shower and clean up blah blah blah and and HOUR AND A HALF goes by with no food. I’m thinking okay..maybe it’s Friday? That’s why it’s not here yet? Even the tracking still showed in the “making” part of the order and I kept refreshing endlessly. So my husband calls and they say they don’t even have an order from me. He says okay and hangs up. I say um no, and call them back because if you don’t have my order who’s refunding this 40 something dollars. They answer and say oh we did find it it says it was delivered at 8:11 over an hour prior to when I’m calling. We tell them yeah no one ever came to the door AND the website still shows in the making portion. On top of that we have a dog who never even barked to let us know someone was here? So my husband goes out to check…yeah. Their delivery driver left it in the middle of our driveway. Didn’t even leave it by the gate, didn’t leave it by the door. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DRIVEWAY AND IT WAS SITTING RHERE FOR AN HOUR. We bring it inside and it’s completely cold all of it. Not to mention who knows what was crawling in it. Now normally I’m not a mean person and i understand things happen. But for this? We have chairs on our porch…AT THE LEAST put them on the chairs dude?! So we tell them what happened that their driver left it in the middle of the driveway and no one told us it was there and that it’s cold yada yada yada. You know what the manager offers us? At 9pm. To either remake the whole order (and us have to wait more) OR a 10% coupon that we CANNOT use with any other coupons. What a way to show you’re sorry smfh. I understand the delivery drivers are no longer through them (which is absolutely wrong and they need to stop going with door dash) But for this to happen when I’m paying over 40$ for one pizza one drink and a small thing of bread? Absolutely not okay. The process have gone up, the delivery is absolutely awful now and now their customer service (and empathy) is just out the window. I’m never ordering here again and trust me my husband will be happier for it. Just horrible horrible quality.

Jan 3, 2014. We ordered a pizza and was told it would be 35 minutes. So, we waited, outside in the parking lot, 40 minutes before my daughter went into the store to pick up the pizza. My daughter waited at the register for a few minutes before anyone even came up to help her. She paid for the pizza, the girl (Samantha) walked away. But didn't return with the pizza. My daughter waited as I watched from the car for almost 10 minutes. I then walked into the store to see why Samantha had not come back with the pizza. I waited a few more minutes inside before a different girl came up front to hand someone who had just walked in her order. I stepped up to ask what happened to our pizza and she just walked away. It took another couple of minutes before Samantha came back and I asked her how much longer it would be before we got our order. Her attitude was rude, snotty, and outright mean. I told her we had been waiting for over 45 minutes and had paid 15 minutes prior. She walked behind the wall and proceeded to have a coughing fit. Then walked around the corner with our order. It had obviously been sitting there the whole time. By this point my irritation with her and the situation warranted my leaving before causing a scene. The other customers saw the entire exchange. I have contacted the corporate offices about Samantha's behavior and my belief that she coughed...

The good food isn't worth their TERRIBLE SERVICE. The Indians working at this location are incredibly rude and nasty to deal with when ordering over the phone. First of all, what pizza place doesn't take cash on delivery? Hungry Howie's is the ONLY one I know of. Secondly, after having to do my order for delivery over the phone because the HH website kept claiming my address was "invalid", I asked the employee who I was speaking to if he could please include some paper plates and he said, "No.Your order has already been placed". And?! You literally can't throw a few paper plates into the bag? Seriously? Or maybe paper plates are extra because of course their kind charges for every little thing. Once again, every other pizza place I know of (Domino's/Pizza Hut/Marco's) includes free paper plates upon request. But NOT Hungry Howie's. Sad really. When my husband & I moved down here 6 years ago, HH was our favorite go-to takeout/delivery restaurant. We ordered from them at least once a week in the first couple years we lived here in Ocala. Then my husband became ill and today was the first time we had ordered from HH in over a year and obviously things have changed. This is the LAST time we will order from HH as it's obvious they don't appreciate loyal customers. I will give my business in the future instead to the locally owned...
