⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re in Ocean City and you don’t stop at Cabanas Beach Bar & Grill on the boardwalk, what are you even doing?

We wandered into this place for food and drinks and ended up having one of the best times of our whole trip. First off, this spot is big—you won’t be elbow-to-elbow with strangers unless you want to be (hey, no judgment). Whether you come with friends or just want to post up at the bar, there’s room to breathe and enjoy.

Now let’s talk about Rachel, the bartender with the energy of your favorite cousin at a family BBQ—friendly, fast, and somehow always right there when your drink is getting low. She’s got jokes, she’s got skills, and she makes a killer cocktail. Seriously, give this woman a raise.

The atmosphere? 10/10. Everyone—staff and patrons alike—was super friendly. It felt more like a beach party you accidentally got invited to than just a restaurant. It’s the kind of place where you could make new friends at the next table or just chill and people-watch with a frozen drink in hand.

Food? Phenomenal. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Drinks? Cold, strong, and very reasonably priced (bonus points!). And can we talk about how CLEAN this place is? Like, I’ve seen surgical rooms that aren’t this spotless. Even the kitchen looked like it was ready for a magazine shoot.

So let's start with the atmosphere. Outside is great, but step inside and you'll be blown away by a great mixture of comfort, local pride, and just solid investment in product. Now on to the food; an absolute perfect blend of flavor, portion and price. The chefs are true artists. Honestly, we over-ordered but didn't regret it.

Let's talk about the staff. The kitchen closed at 10:30 and we walked in at 10:09pm. You'd never know because even as they were winding down for the evening every single staff member made us feel like we were the first customers of the day. From greeting to seating and culinary perfection, we loved it all.

Now to close with focusing specifically on two staff members in particular. Our server, EMMA, who was a ball of energy and if everything else went wrong we'd come back just because of her. She never let our drinks bottom out (unlike my mother's old Cadillac on a speed bump), knew the menu like Steve Lasy knows how to woo a woman, and was sweeter than an old lady with extra handfuls of hard candy on Halloween. Emma's right hand man Luca is kind of an unsung hero. He kept the floors safe and clean, while providing entertainment as he danced the night away sweeping every crumb and prepping the seats for the morning rush. I would rate this place 0 stars if I could. The waitress that was assigned to my table two days in a row was not friendly, not attentive and overall a bad host. We went for lunch one day and breakfast the next. The first day, we couldn't even get her attention long enough to ask for drink refills (which she should have been paying attention to but was not - mind you this place was not busy at all this day). My boyfriend wanted fries instead of the chips that his sandwich came with and we were charged $7 for a substitution of fries. She also constantly disappeared for 10, 15, 20 minutes at a time. For the breakfast service, our friend had to wait a good hour for his breakfast sandwich after asking for it/reminding her 3+ times.

The food itself was pretty average and the service was atrocious. They also allow some photographer to walk around inside the building trying to rope you into taking pictures for a post card that you have to buy. The last thing I want while eating my food is to be pestered by a salesman.
