FANTASTIC!!!
I ended up getting way more than I anticipated and I didn’t regret it one bit. We got three donuts to share. They were cakey in consistency, fresh, warm, and very good.
The coffee cake was also very good. It was a harder topping than I preferred, but it was still very good!
The iced cinnamon rolls were phenomenal! We got one to share, which was my only regret.
And of course the sticky buns. At first I wasn’t happy that I had to buy them by the dozen and couldn’t just get a couple. Fortunately, you can get two different half dozens. So we got the plain sticky buns and the peach (fresh jersey peaches). Both were fantastic. I was glad I ended up having so many left over!
My suggestion, is to hit them early in the week if you are staying down for a length of time. Then you can have plenty left over for the week with your coffee at home.
The place was SUPER busy when I got there on a Monday morning at 7:30. The line was out the door. I was waited on in less than 5 minutes. Service was fast!
It is CASH only, so come prepared (they have an ATM on premises but I’m sure the bank will likely take a nice...
Read moreWhat a wonderful find! First time here and Patty was super helpful and sweet. She went through all the choices and even told us about their ability to ship their amazing sticky buns. At the store, you can purchase the sticky buns by the dozen or half dozen. The variety is nuts! A ton of fruit options, including apple, raspberry, pineapple, raisin, and orange. They also sell them plain and with walnuts. Get there early for the special fruit flavors. They also sell doughnuts, cinnamon rolls (which looked delicious) and crumb cake. I had the raisin walnut sticky buns and they were warm when I arrived. Sweet, buttery and full of cinnamon flavor. OMG... Sooooo good! They were even delicious the next day out of the fridge. There are three little tables outside to enjoy your treats, too. Love to find wonderful little local places like this with kind people working there! Can't wait to go back and get one of those...
Read moreAccept no substitutes. Mallon's is the ORIGINAL Ocean City Sticky Buns. I have had a them from a few different places and these are the ones that take the cake. For years, we have ordered them in the winter time to eat on Christmas morning - it's a tradition.
They have a pretty big selection of pastries besides the sticky buns, but. would 'stick' with those. They also have many new flavors but I would try plain first, they are my favorite anyway.
TOP TIP: Slice the cinnamon buns like bread and fry them like French Toast! This is an unbelievable treat. This is my preferred way to eat them.
All in all, this is one of the old staples of Ocean City. Mallon's Sticky Buns are what come to mind when I think about sweets at the beach. Don't...
