1ST AND LAST TIME-Black Friday we decided to goto The Cafe for breakfast ,Seated immediately as we were the 2nd table of guests (the place was empty which I was fine with) The waitress (younger thin woman, long dark hair-She was very Friendly and probably the only thing good about this visit. The food- 1st I want to point out many hands touching the toaster and bread and doing other stuff with their hands so I wasnt excited about that food handling practice (and toast is not buttered in the kitchen they give you cold/Dry toast and provide you with single serve butter packets/jelly at the table. So I got the veggie omelet (I kept on greeting Big chunks of raw green pepper Maybe Sautee them 1st Or even cut smaller would help take away that Crunchy Raw veggie mouthfeel among Warm egg) I got maybe 4 bites in and got to all of this Slimy Raw egg I was instantly Turned off and it was forks down 4 me.. My husband got the Sausage gravy & Biscuits (but no biscuits avbl so he opted for putting it over homefries. Its sliced sausage (coined) cooked sausage *not crumbled the Gravy had Zero flavor (use crumbled sausage and add the drippings to your gravy) so that was taken off the bill as he took 3 bites (we are not the people to send food back or have it remade as I dont trust anyone when you complain about their 1st round of food) The building- dirty window sills,(fans were off) You could see a thick layer of dust on the ceiling fan blades, dirty windows we sat inside next to the 3 windows) I almost left my business card,Maybe they just need a good cleaning company.? 🤷🏼♀️ IDK I was Very disappointed and unfortunately we wont be back (not that they care but it...
Read moreAs a server this place is horrible. When we sat down not one took us. They were talking us infront of us saying “I’m not taking them” “I didn’t take them either” Then walked away and we have to wait longer to get started. It wasn’t busy. Everyone was on there phone or talking loudly about everything but the restaurant. While they where talking me and the other tables where waiting there either for the food(that’s been sitting there for several minutes) or anything else. The staff screams across the tiny restaurant about being out of fruit. While they talk, They ignored my friends and my food. I got the avocado toast and it ended up being super soggy. I had to use a fork to keep it up but the toast kept falling apart. I asked for a side of egg whites and it ended being almost $9 and the server didn’t tell me. On the menu it said $1.50 for a substitution of egg white so I figured it wouldn’t cost much more. I can buy a whole egg white carton for less. I would Not have not gotten it if i knew that it would be this expensive. I was trying to figure out how the bill go so expensive when I only got 2 $13 entrees i wanted clarification with the server but they where sitting on there phone infront of everyone. And after that, when paying the machine wants me to give 28%. I left I good tip but I will not...
Read moreMy family and I have dined here before, but we won’t be returning after our experience here last weekend. We waited over an hour for breakfast for 3 people, despite it not being overly crowded. There was no reason given by our server as to why our food was taking so long, though she was apologetic and sweet. When the food did come out, two of our meals were cold while the other was so hot that I had to wait to eat it, which I wasn’t thrilled about considering we had already waited an hour. It also cost us $45 plus tip for a party of 3, one of which was a kids’ meal.
While the wait was long, the bigger issue was the lack of cleanliness. The bathroom was disgusting with dead bugs on the floor and near the sink. Our table and chairs were soaking wet when we arrived, and when I wiped them with a napkin, the napkin was completely brown with bits of dried food stuck to it.
I don’t know what happened to this place, but it has clearly gone downhill. With so many other breakfast places in Ocean City, we regretted our decision to dine here and certainly will not...
