Beware. Booked this spot last-minute for a beach getaway with my toddler and MIL. It wasn’t mortifying like some of the recent reviews (no horror-movie-level surprises), but it also wasn’t pleasant. It was basically the definition of overpriced mediocrity. Check-in was fine. The two staff up front weren’t exactly radiating joy, but they were functional, and functional works. Our ground-floor double-bed room was tiny. Everything was outdated, beat-up, and rusty, some paint peeling at corners, though at least the bathroom wasn’t scary (no mold sightings!) Bonus points for no carpet (less chance of mystery stains). It wasn’t spotless, but it had been cleaned enough and we brought our cleaning supplies and did an additional wipe down . Beds were… okay. For the sake of sleeping and showering, it was ok. Here’s the kicker: almost $800 for two nights. For that price, you’d expect at least the illusion of a clean, cared-for property. Instead, it’s run-down. What you’re really paying for is location: 2 minutes to the boardwalk and beach, a bed to crash in, and a bathroom to rinse off. If your standards hover anywhere above “mediocre,” this is not your place. The price tag feels less like a room rate and more like an insult. We skipped the pool after reading reviews but saw brave souls splashing around. And for smoking? I called ahead (their third-party line, since the hotel has no direct contact) and was assured it was a non-smoking property. Lol, not true. There’s a smoking area by the vending machines and (my favorite) two smoking zones inside the pool courtyard, which is surrounded by all the rooms. So yes, the “family swim” comes with a side of secondhand smoke. See pics. At the end of the day, we rolled with it since we were only in the room at night. But the resentment is real, I 100% felt swindled for the price paid. The photos on Hotels.com literally have nothing to do with what reality looks like. Do yourself a favor: dig a little deeper in your wallet and book literally any other inn nearby (even though the rate for this is literal insanity). Your mental health will thank you.

My family started staying here for vacation in 2009 and it's our favorite vacation spot. Sadly, this year we found out that it's for sale, which is depressing since my husband passed away my son and myself still go yearly and rent an apartment for the week, which always makes us think about how much he loved it there. This year, they've upgraded all the appliances, which are beautiful new stainless steel, matching each other. The boardwalk is literally about 50 yards from the hotel and we love that everything we need is close by. Owners are family who run a beautiful, well-kept property ❤️. Hopefully, they will still be there for our next vacation 😀 😊. Thanks for a relaxing week, Cecelia and Pat! Update: the Tahiti Inn was sold, the website is not working yet and new owners already changed an important policy that may end our time staying there. The previous owners allowed a 72-hour window to cancel and still receive the majority of the deposit back. The new owners already did away with the safety net for consumers and it's a bad look if you want the constant business the previous owner had. Also, parking is no longer free, even for one vehicle and even if you paid $3k to stay for the week. The new owners want to charge us $10/day, almost an extra $100 bucks when it's always been free. Shame that you had to change the perfect spot and we won't be booking until the website is up and shows the property. My almost 16 yo son never vacationed anywhere else and it was my late husband's favorite place to stay. We will greatly miss the Gallini family 😓🤔 and already dislike the few changes I know about now 😢

Stayed here on a recent trip to Ocean City New Jersey. The entrance is done beautifully, with the waterfalls on each side and the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, as was the house- keeping staff. Parking lot/spaces were very small and tight. Our room was very clean, but very tiny. We felt like there were not too many places to set bags, and they were kind of cluttering the floor making it difficult to walk from one side of room to the other. Decor could use some updating, and blinds would be ideal rather than a curtain. We couldn't let any natural light in, because when the curtain was opened, there was no privacy, with people walking by to get to their rooms. Bathroom was ultra tiny. However, the mattresses and pillows in our room were very, very comfortable and there was a small refrigerator which was definitely a plus. It was also right on the boardwalk and a short walking distance to the beach. The pool area was clean and kept nicely, but we wish that the pool has been open a little later than 6:30 pm. When we came off off the beach, and back from our activities, it would have been so nice to have taken a relaxing swim, just adults, in the pool with that cute little waterfall, before bed. Overall was not a bad little hotel, but I thought a bit pricey considering the small size of the room, not being able to swim in the pool after dinner, and the few other quirks. I would stay here again, but probably not as my first choice. In any case, we had a great time in Ocean City, which is what counts most. :)

It truly upsets me to write this review because this was once one of my favorite places anywhere, but our stay at the Tahiti Inn at the end of July/early August 2025 was so bad I have to warn other OCNJ travelers. Some context: I began staying at the Tahiti Inn in 2006. It was always a laid back hotel. There were few amenities, but they serviced the rooms daily. It was comfortable and clean and the management and staff were friendly and helpful. I have many fond memories of sitting on the balcony overlooking the pool with the little waterfall and chatting softly at night with my loved ones. There was always laughter in the morning and the music at the pool provided joyful summer vibes. We came back again and again, choosing it over other hotels. My husband and I loved Ocean City so much we got married there and recommended the hotel to our guests. My best friends stayed there in 2013 and had an awesome time. We even chose to stay there in the days after our wedding, and when our son was born we brought him there for his first vacation. It was a magical place to us. |There was no poolside music playing during our last stay in the summer of 2025 and this should’ve been the first sign that something was wrong. There were also no clean towels. Guest were advised to text the office when housekeeping was needed but the response was spotty and not guaranteed. Cleanliness seemed to be an issue everywhere. One morning I watched someone inspect the pool water and while I can’t be sure of the outcome her expression was enough to keep me out of the pool for the rest of the trip. There didn’t seem to be many people around, expect the kid who jumped the gate after hours to do backflips into the pool while his young pals filmed and cheered him on. There was no security or staff around to stop him and fortunately he didn’t bust his head in the shallow water. There was barely any trash pick up and things got pretty messy after a week of coming and going from the beach, even after rinsing off outside, but this wasn’t even the worst of our problems. My parents had invited us on this vacation as a gift. They also invited my siblings including my brother, his pregnant wife and their two young children. They arrived early on the third day, picked up their parking pass from the office and joined us on the beach while we all waited for their room to be ready. At 5:30 pm, hours after they checked in with the front desk, they returned to the hotel with my dad and were told their room was not available. My dad was upset. He told the manager that this was not okay. The manager then yelled at my father, a kind and patient man in his 70s who was just trying to figure out how to get into the room he paid for with his son, pregnant daughter-in-law, and two tired grandkids. The manager said he had to work 7 days a week and he couldn’t get everything done. As upsetting as this was, it got worse. The manager finally gave my dad keys to another room, and showed him where it was. My dad unlocked the door and there stood a woman in a towel, shocked to see someone else trying to come into her occupied room. The flustered manager ran away and found keys to yet ANOTHER room where my brother and his family finally stayed. Half the room had no electricity. It put everyone is a deflated mood. |I love Ocean City and this hotel is special to my family. I’d love to give both another chance. But honestly this experience was so weird I’m not sure I want to go back at all. I hope they can turn the place around and get the staff the support they need. I know from experience that it’s not usually the people on call who are the problem, but the people who own and manage the property. I hope they can make things right, because this can be a great place. But if not there are lots of places to visit with family and I just want to stay somewhere that is safe and clean with people who treat others kindly and care about one another. Right now the Tahiti Inn...

New Ownership -Worst Stay EVER in 21 years of staying!|Tahiti Inn apartments (now called Ocean's Edge Luxury Apartments) are FAR from LUXURY. Still part of the Inn, but new name and false advertising.|We have been coming here for 21 years - and this year we stayed in June AND July.|our stay in June was the first under new management. | Our "luxury" apartment, in which we have stayed in every year for two decades... was recently remodeled. We knew there had been a remodel and new management and were willing to pay the immense price hike. We were looking forward to seeing the updates, only to find:||We requested and paid for a large apartment (advertised) and received a small apartment. When questioned, we were told it is the same square footage. But Apartment #11 (for anyone checking in) has a MICRO - kitchen and it is not the same.||- Our apartment was unfinished. Sheetrock dust everywhere. No furniture, other than three beds and a couch, two lamps.|- The windows were not covered. Curtains laying in closest on the floor. The curtain hooks were hung with weak hardware, and were falling off the wall. (pics below.) We requested they be fixed for privacy. This was never resolved.|- No dresser or stand for any suitcases. |- TV's did not work, and no help came to fix this when we requested assistance.|- TV internet did not work. Still no assistance.|- No blow drier. |- Kitchen area had no place to plug in toaster. We had to use the bedroom floor (only outlet with remodel) to make toast.|- No broom, dustpan (OCEAN=SAND)|- And management is only on site periodically. Staff cannot assist unless with permission of management.|- Water dripping from light in bathroom.|- Hot water only in one bathroom shower at a time. |- One roll toilet paper per bathroom.|- Four towels between two bathrooms.|- No cleaning service provided unless asked, and we had to find a random broom/dustpan, garbage bags, and never received a blow drier, even after requesting twice.(Every hotel big and small, has a blow drier.)|- Mold on patio walls.|- Staff sat outside apartments in chairs while our family exited and entered doors, |- Ladders and hoses everywhere. Little kids trying to climb and use.|- No ice machine.|- No sand rinse station anymore. All sand comes back to your room with you.|- Pool was closed off and on for repairs.|- Occupants repeatedly smoking on our patio. Reservation clearly states NO smoking premise.|- Management we dealt with was rude and impersonal.|- We took a few photos to show management upon check-in, with concern of being charged for damage. |- The remodel is an upgrade as far as "appearance," in the apartments, but other than that - after 21 years, we won't be returning unless there is new management, acknowledgement of the issues, and major improvements and follow up sent.||This was in June/July 2025. All of the provisions listed on website were false. If you choose to book at the Tahiti Inn apartments (now Ocean's Edge Luxury Apartments,) pack everything you need from home, because you will not find it here.||We really miss the outstanding service and care from previous...

I am unfortunately writing because we just had a terrible experience at the Apartments at the Inn. I was told the only way to get in touch with management was through email, but I have not heard back from them

The positive in this trip was Kyle who was very good and did try his best to make us happy. He did a great job for us….unfortunately some things were out of his hands.

Upon arrival, there was broken glass (which we later found out was a shower….which was ironic because ours needed work to make it slide all the way closed) out of our back sliding door. It was cleaned up and after that, my son walked out to hang a towel and cut his foot twice on glass which was still there. It was like they cleaned up the small area and the big pieces but didn't sweep or vacuum the whole area, which should obviously be done with broken glass.

Also, our fridge smelled really bad and wasn't that cold. We come to find out it is broken or on its way to dying.

The TVs were crooked and barely worked because of week wifi

The shower door didn't close.

We were told that there were no extra pillows.

Kyle moved us….which meant repacking everything and moving at the end of our first evening.

The new place didn't have all of those issues but there were some.

The AC in the main bedroom didn't work that well. It was turning on and off much more than it should.

The TVs barely worked because of weak Wifi (and we did get rain so we all just wanted to relax inside and watch a show which we could not do).

My kids asked the front desk about wifi a few times and the password they gave them was wrong. I finally stopped in to get toilet paper (because there was no extra in the room) and asked them about Wifi and was finally given the right password and instructions. During that visit it was also explained to me that they give customers quarters to get ice…..this was after a few days and me spending $5 on the ice machine, which never gave the same amount. And we did not have an ice bucket….I had to use a kitchen pot.

So when we arrived, the front never told me about the ice or the wifi and couldn't me extra pillows. Very disappointing.

Furthermore, the apartment had no basic kitchen towels, or paper towels, had no extra trash bag, etc. There was no extra toilet paper. There was no rods or hangers in the closet and no hooks anywhere. With all of the towels and wet clothes being that we were at the beach….some kind of something to hang a suit or towel on would be very helpful. There was no dresser, no draws, no nothing to...
