I'm struggling with this review, mainly because I have mixed feelings about my experience. Ultimately the cake was finished and looked similar to the photos sent, but it wasn't how I requested it.

Here's how my interactions went:

1- I called to ask how to place an order and wasn't really met with warmth. The response was "text this number what you want" I texted the next day and didn't hear back for almost 5 days. No big deal to have to follow up but just feels like I shouldn't have to. The pricing seemed fair, a little pricey but with a custom cake I was expecting it. I had to even ask next steps to secure my spot versus her just providing all the details I needed.

2- I had to ask if she would be ready for pick up at a certain time versus her confirming with me. Again, I was having to do most of the driving, not a huge deal but as a business owner I thought she would want to make sure I was feeling informed.

3- when my parents picked up the cake (I wasn't able to due to being sick) but shared with my parents exactly what it should look like and what it should say, she acted oblivious to my mom asking about those requests. Which ultimately were missing from the cake. It was a birthday cake without his name, age he was turning and "happy birthday" all of which were requested. It's frustrating because I couldn't even get her to fix it because we were out of time. But I shouldn't have to is the point. Yes, she said she would come to the venue to fix it, which to my understanding would have been writing on the cake, but the party had already started and she would have been writing on the cake in front of our guests and that would have been embarrassing. I was wanted our guests to be impressed with the cake upon entering, and her standing there adding what I asked for would not have been the experience I wanted. To response to owner refund- The refund issued was $10 for missing critical pieces on the cake...so I still paid $90 for the cake pictured.

4- pretty much all of the decorations on the cake are inedible/paper print outs versus more intricate/fondant work. The print outs were also all curling at the tips. $100 for a cake with print outs doesn't seem quite fair. I'm not saying everything should be crazy intricate because I get that wouldn't be $100, but I could make a blue cake and add cardstock prints or get the cake itself for much cheaper at a large bakery to do the same. Just felt a little messy and I think the price point missed the expectation. An easy win would have been to add fondant across the whole cake verses trying to do icing which looked unpolished. I actually received comments about the icing and items falling off which made me feel embarrassed.

What I am saying is, I should have looked more to the pictures of cakes done previously to make sure I would be happy with the outcome. She ultimately delivered a cake on time just don't think I would have agreed to the cost had I known what the outcome would be. Pics are attached. First two pics are the cake. Editing to add- this is my experience and I wasn't able to find something this detailed in other reviews with clear pictures. You can have many repeat customers who are happy with the work and that's great, but I was a new customer who did not feel like I received the best...

I keep looking at these wonderful cakes she makes with clear talent and then I have pictures of someone else's wedding cake for my child's 1st birthday because I didn't make it on her calendar even when we planned in advance and paid. When we went back due to the credit she gave us and reimbursed us we thought we could get our dream cake to have for our photo album and take more photos. It was supposed to be a smash cake. It couldn't even smash on the ground since it was made from rice crispy treats and had 5 sticks in it. It didn't even look like the cake I asked for. I wish her business well and hope she succeeds at all she does. Just double check what your getting before you leave and follow up to ensure communication is met. Nothing went right for us and our sons first birthday experience when it came to the cake. There is nothing anyone can do to fix that either. We're just going to take this as an experience and triple check the next time we go get a cake...

I love this bakery, I have order all of my son’s birthday cakes here in the past and they always come out looking amazing. Recently I order a cake and a dozen custom cookies. I was not impressed by the work that was done, both the cake and cookies looked very rushed. I gave a months notice for this order so there was plenty of time to work of them. The cookies I was mostly disappointed by because I seen the work from that this company does from their Facebook, I just knew they could have been better. EDIT: The owner was very professional in fixing my needs and worked to make the cookies I asked!
