I've had my fair share of trying a great variety of pho restaurants, from NorCal to SoCal, and this place is not the greatest. If I could give it a zero, I would. The broth of the pho consisted of strong spices that were extremely overwhelming and I understand that pho broth has star anise, cloves, etc., which are the main ingredients to pho, but for some odd reason, their pho broth was too herbally. There's a difference between a subtle pho broth and a broth that is too strong because of spices.
In addition, I tried their Bahn Mi and that sandwich was plain and not worth the money. They slapped the marinated meat, cilantro, carrots, daikon, and jalapeños onto the sandwich and called it good. On top of that, the sandwich was so small that you could tell the bread from the inside was taken out. There was no flavor to the sandwich, PERIOD! Most, if some, pho restaurants make Bahn Mi with flavorful marinated meat and add some type of mayonnaise or pasting to the bread, but this restaurant didn't have any of that. To add, when I ordered my Bahn Mi at the front counter, I could tell the girl and man were laughing at me because of the way I pronounced Bahn Mi. They were talking in their language and kept mimicking how I said Bahn Mi which made it obvious that they were making fun of me. I'll most definitely never go back there again based on their food...
Read moreMy husband ordered me a filet mignon pho and added chicken and shrimp. Per special request he asked that my filet mignon be fully cooked, as I'm pregnant. They accommodated to the special request. He ordered a chicken, beef and filet mignon pho for himself. The pho is very tasty and very filling as as they are generous with their portions, including the protein. Staff is very friendly. We do recommend based on taste, portion and price of initial first purchase from them. The only thing I wasn't very pleased with was the taro Boba tea. It was very chunky to the point I could not sip any of the beverage through the straw. The power was very bulky and chunky despite my efforts to mix it. Both my husband and I stirred it vigorously and it fixed nothing. I ended up straining it through a mesh wire to separate the drink from the compressed wet powder. I recommend blending the powder with the milk first before adding...
Read moreHello Googlers,
My experience of Vietnamese cuisine in the United States is varied by my travels across the globe. This place has a lot of the flavors I was looking for. I tried their house special with the fried noodles and pork banh mi. I was slightly disappointed by the noodles as they tasted stale, but the veggies were what I was looking for and really enjoyed that. The banh mi was different for me, as it was lacking some of the traditional methods like toasted bread and pickled veggies. After talking to the host, he was very receptive and appreciative to my comment and recommended that if you are looking for the traditional methods, to give them some time to make it. If you are like me and love the traditional style then call ahead or go to another place. Besides that the customer service was great and had an all around...
