I had probably one of the best dinners of my life here in mid July 2024. Four of us came in a same-day reservation on a Monday evening. We started with the “haunted room #2” which is basically a spicy margarita. The presentation is so cool, in a smoky box. Absolutely delicious. We started with a crab cake, and a tostada andaluza. The crab cake was super fresh, and the bread and tomatoes was equally as good. I appreciate the international flair to the menu. My main was the halibut special in the pomodoro sauce. It was equisite; flaky, well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The others at my table all ordered the schnitzel, which they enjoyed. Service was excellent, drinks were excellent, and food was excellent. Don’t come, you will hate it.

Hidden gem in Ogunquit. An amazing consistent restaurant within the Inn. Everything is cooked from scratch. I’m a local and I was shocked. Basic stuff like chicken tenders blew us away - beer battered with hand-cut fries. Perfect. We had chicken piccata and a special chicken sandwich tonight. Both were killer. They are on OpenTable. Staff are all friendly and on point. Try this place. (I’ve been back several more times, added some more photos of the food - very happy with everything). The service staff works like a well oiled machine and the interaction with customers is thoughtful, friendly and comforting. Hard to find these days. <added photos from subsequent visits>

We had an amazing dinner at OVI during our vacation last week. Never having tried OVI in the past, we were enticed by its new management, recent renovation, and hearing the chef from the now closed Northern Union (best restaurant last year) was now there. We were blown away with the menu options and how good the food was! If it hadn’t been our last night in town we would have returned again. This is a must go place for a great dinner. Our bar staff (as we love sitting at the bar) were great, and Jessica is always our favorite!

We chose this place because we had eaten there several times prior to the pandemic. Ideal location to walk to everything including The Oqunquit Playhouse which we did. Our room was large with a sitting room attached which was nice. The owners were friendly and welcoming. However this place needs some serious upgrades. Our room was clean but had tacky indoor/outdoor carpeting. Furniture very worn. Tiny bathroom with tiny corner shower. We are small so wasn’t a problem but definitely know some who wouldn’t fit. There was a soap/shampoo dispenser in the shower mounted for someone 6 feet tall. I’m 5’1”. Also if you’re very tall and sat on that toilet your knees would hit the wall. No sink. The sink was in the bedroom. No daily maid service even though we put the sign out. I suppose that’s gone by the wayside in many places since the pandemic.|The pub was nice and we did eat in the restaurant which was good but not as good as in previous years. Serving baked potatoes still wrapped in foil is more like a Longhorn Steakhouse thing and not a 5 Star restaurant. This place has so much potential. Just an FYI, there is no elevator and our room was up 2 flights of very steep stairs so make sure you are...

Our server was a slender man with curly brown hair and brown eyes. His demeanour was atrocious. I don't want him to lose his job, but he really should be given some lessons on how to meet, greet and serve the public. His behaviour and what he said was beyond inappropriate (which he said to us after patronizing us, dressing us down for moving table as one of us had long legs that didn't fit...etc.) it was obvious that he was having a bad day and night, but he won't be making much money if he turns customers away as he did that night. R E S P E C T ..... he needs to learn and understand the meaning. Yes, the customer should be treated with respect, not indignation and condescension. Manager tried to fix it by finally offering us a table in bar area and shots,(were 70 somethings)lol. This is where we’d wanted to sit in first place , but were told they were too busy… even though we had a reservation and it was off season and there were a dozen empty tables (end April) all in all a very disagreeable experience when we were so looking forward to having fish and chips.

If you go, good luck. Be prepared it could be a fiasco. We ordered a good pizza from the corner and ate in our hotel...
