Chickie's General Store is a true local treasure that deserves every one of its five stars! When it comes to subs and salads, there's nowhere else I'd rather go. Each order is freshly made to perfection according to your preference, ensuring that every bite is exactly what you've been craving. The deli selections are top-notch, featuring quality meats and cheeses that elevate any sandwich or platter.
But the delights don't stop there – their array of pastries, candies, and snacks is a treat for anyone with a sweet tooth or looking for a quick, tasty snack. Moreover, the high-quality pantry items on offer mean you can take home more than just a delicious meal; you can stock your shelves with the best ingredients for later.
The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff are friendly and provide exceptional service, and the store itself has that charming, genuine feel you only get from a lovingly run family business. Chickie's is my go-to for not just a meal, but for an experience that leaves you feeling like part of the community. Don't miss out...
Read moreSad to give this rating. Came by on a recommendation and was not received warmly. Instead, we were snapped at about wearing masks from and employee not wearing hers appropriately over her entire face while slicing a customer’s deli order. “You need to wear a mask if you’re in the store!” instead of “Welcome in, do you have/can we get you a mask?”. Very rude.
Within seconds, another gentleman walked in without a mask and not a word came from the staff. He was warmly greeted/checked out. We decided this was not the place to spend our money even though we love to shop local/small business.
Not sure what the double standard is about, but if masks are going to be enforced everyone should have to wear them over their entire nose and mouth. We went to big biz Kroger and spent $40 there instead. We will not be back...

Finding a close parking spot can be a bit of a challenge, but there's usually parking somewhere nearby along the square if you're up for a short walk. We love going to McKenna's for the assortment of cheese, condiments, and snacks! The staff have always been very friendly and helpful. Everything I've tried on the hot food menu has been yummy, but be prepared for a wait if you go during the weekday lunch hour. I've heard a rumor that they might be expanding their dine-in options by incorporating the former Subway restaurant space. I really hope that's true because the bar seating along the window is close quarters and I feel rather like an animal on exhibit in the zoo each time I've...
