Handel's Homemade Ice Cream South Ave — Restaurant in Ohio

The one star has nothing to do with the ice cream. However, I went to the South Ave Handel’s and the girl felt the need to tip herself on my card WITHOUT my permission. She thought I wouldn’t notice the 20% tip that she gave herself because I told her that I didn’t need the receipt. Majority of my transactions goes to my phone. This is beyond dishonest. I reached out to corporate because if she did this to me, she probably does this to other customers. Unfortunately, this Handel’s isn’t under the franchise. This location is DISGUSTING. The garbage cans were overflowing and covered in ice cream. There wasn't enough space to put anything in them and the ground was just covered in ice cream and bees. The whole place smelled disgusting. We were standing in line gagging. The only reason I didn't leave is because my family goes there once a year when they come to town and I wanted to share that experience with them again. Albeit a horrible experience. But still. Also this was not a one day garbage smell. You can tell they didn't take the garbage out for a couple days it was awful. Best ice cream, anywhere, hands down! We grew up coming here when visiting my grandparents in Ohio, and the ice cream continues to delight. They have SO MANY good flavors! If you have a hard time deciding what to get, I highly recommend the 4-scoop sampler, so you can try four different flavors! This visit I tried the graham central station, pumpkin cheesecake, buckeye (peanut butter ice cream with buckeye pieces and fudge ripple), and salty caramel truffle.
