CASH ONLY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
I was running an errand and my blood glucose dropped, leaving me shaky. I loved the Mushroom Bacon burger that I had a few days before from a different location and I wanted another one.
The parking lot and drive through were barren when I pulled in. I approached the drive through order board and figured out why they were 'dead'. On the order board there is a hand-written sign that says "CASH ONLY - SORRY". Many people these days don't carry cash. They don't need it with their payment cards. The greeting from the employee inside was paired with the statement that they're cash-only. I ordered a double Mushroom Bacon burger, a small French fries, and a small Coke Zero.
I discovered that the small 'double' Mushroom burger combo with French fries was $12.96! Wow, I'm glad I'm not feeding a family of 4.
While I was waiting for my order, after I paid, I noticed another car entered the drive through. They apparently saw the CASH ONLY sign and drove away. Two more cars ordered behind me. I told the supervisor as they handed my order that, "Hey, I brought you guys some business." He thanked me because they went from 'dead' and barren to a lunch rush at 2:30 PM.
The fries were extremely fresh. I've noticed that Wendy's no longer salts their French fries. I don't like French fries coated in salt or anywhere close to that. I like some salt on them though. I also noticed that I wasn't asked if I needed ketchup. I guess that practice disappeared with COVID. At least they included napkins in the bag and I got a straw for my soda.
I digress. I ate my lunch parked in the parking lot and saw the supervisor go on break. While I ate, including the other cars I witnessed go through the drive through, there were at least a dozen cars that bought food AFTER I pulled into the dead location and bought mine.
Normally Wendy's gets ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ but they lost one -⭐ for being cash only. Great...
Read moreI give them a 1 because i cant get lower. The order was wrong then to top it off i went to get a drink at a brand new coke machine and it squirted orange pop syrup all over my new $75 shirt. I asked for a manger and they sent a guy out who wiped the machine down and filled my cup with randome something orange then after having his hands on a dirty rag put his hands on my straw and the edge of my cup. So i make a comme t on the app and the manager calls me and says he was there that day it took 3 days and to avoid going through corporate he offered me 2 meals for 5. I agreed went in for my first meal it came to $25 i went back in for my second meal and he said i couldnt do it because my first meal was so much money. Average meal being $8 4 adult meals and 2 kids meals would be over $30 so minimum $60 for 2 family of 5 meals. Which already was way less than our $20 wrong meal and or the $75 so for $95 I got a total of $50 in reimbursement. We even tried to go back and maybe have a differwnt experience their other manager was rude to us from the minute we walked in she yelled across the counter "You aint getting anything free so if you are just turn around and go" I made it a point to order then pay and tell her to cancel my order just because of the embarrassing statement she made as i walked in. I then made it clear i was willing to pay for a meal even after your location didnt honor the fact that you ruined a $75 shirt and the dinning room is always dirty. We were trying to give them a chance but we would not be back and since she was Africa American i would think she wouldnt judge someone before knowing the facts. However she did and is not the only but one of the biggests reasons i will not revisit that location. Dennis should retire and leave management to...
Read moreThis place is hit or miss, really. It's an old building/location, but the food can still be good if you go at the right times when they're busy.
I do love some of the food here, but it's not necessarily pleasant every time. Today I went through the drive-thru, and had to get into a back-and-forth argument with the cashier over how I used a dime after she cashed my order out to have my change given back differently (if that makes sense?) In fairness to Wendy's, they have generally been good to me and this was really the first time I ever had a bad experience with an employee. I didn't mind once I was nicely (and quickly) handed my food at the next window by a manager who, truthfully, seemed cool to me.
Alas though, I get home, and my Jr. Bacon Cheesebuger was a Jr. Deluxe. And I am without a receipt. Let's be real though, I love these burgers, so I'm eating it anyways. I came here to find their number and call, when I did though, the manager (I'm assuming from the drive thru) answered and was more than helpful in saying they'd get me a Jr. Bacon Cheese the next time I roll through. She was also nice enough to give me the numbers and stuff to do the survey and all that, which I requested for as I didn't get a receipt.
Metaphorically - I'd consider this manager to be like cold water after a painful burn...? I don't know, whatever. All I know is although this time it wasn't all too great, my faith in this place prevails that at least there are some good people that work there and will work to make my experiences pretty alright.
Oh, seriously though, in conclusion, only go at busy times if you want to know you'll...
