I went in recently to pick up a rolling cart and it's accessories to put a new printer on. We realized that Michaels has made some changes, with its prices, Accessibility, & coupons. They've added the storage carts to that "no coupons" as well. They are NOT ADVERTISING THAT, instead you are paying & that's when you find out. The only "coupon" that's allowable, are the "reward type" where you can take $5 off. I ended up having an argument with the cashier because I was looking at the coupon online for 25% off but the "exclusions" did not list the carts. The manager said that Corporate made the decision because the rolling storage carts are only $35 and it made no sense to accept discounts on top of what Michaels already sees as a "Cheaper," medium. He couldn't give me an answer about the larger carts that are much MORE EXPENSIVE. Other than that he believed that "ALL ROLLING CARTS OR STATIONARY PIECES UNDER THE SAME BRANDS WILL ALSO BE PRICED THE SAME WAY. REGARDLESS IF THEY ARE $99 TO $150. And none of them will work with all ongoing coupons. I'm sorry but I disagree that the price difference of the regular rolling carts at $35 to $60; is the same as the more expensive ones that could run us more than $150. **The manager did end up giving us the 25% discount (plus some additional credits because of the severe migraine that this caused me;) per the fact that even when I signed into the laptop in his office, the new "coupons" were still absent. So he had to accept the discount. In the end I was able to get the wood top for free and received a discount on the pair of attachable cups that are packaged both singular and in pairs now. I also took the name of the regional manager and corporate information too. I have, since, sent a 3 page typed letter to the corporate office with my opinion regarding the nightmare of going into my local store with coupons and a list of what I had planned to purchase. *Mentioning my disappointment of spending almost 45 minutes instead of the 20 +/- that I thought it would take. I also added that as a member of the "disabled population" that shops at Michaels; I thought it was sad that the store used to have a wheelchair with a basket and a scooter for making long shopping trips easier. Not knowing why both the wheelchair & scooter disappeared. I let them know, that I would be posting my unhappiness with Michaels Crafts store on EVERY SOCIAL MEDIA SITE I COULD FIND until something changed. *It is my opinion that any store that chooses their PROFIT margins over their customers is clearly a company that needs a lesson in COMPASSION, HOSPITALITY & SENSITIVITY. * Companies & Retail stores that are supposed to be catering to the public but instead are ONLY thinking of their bottom line & profits; instead of seeing the struggle of their customers to spend more money during a time when many people are having to choose meals over prescriptions or even purchasing Xmas gifts for their grand-kids or great-grandchildren. ONLY to learn about all the "unknown" items no longer accepted by the store coupons.
My wedding is in May and I've been purchasing all of my flowers for Michaels to complete the bouquets, boutonnieres, table decor, decoration for the cake, etc. Today I went in with flowers I realized I didn't need as many of as I thought and the necessary receipts. The problem was that receipts were passed their expiration so I was afraid they could not be taken back. The associate was very patient with me as I explained my dilemma and the manager was great about allowing me to return the unneeded flowers. I was able to get a store credit (which was perfect because I just wanted to buy more flowers in different styles anyways).
I just wanted to say thank you to the great staff and wonderful management. I am so glad that I've done all of my wedding flowers through Michaels and I will continue to shop here because they are so kind and caring towards...
Read moreThis Michaels is not my favorite but since it's nearest to my home and I have a crafting business, I'm here often. They only ever have 2 people working the registers no matter how busy. I've waited in line for over 15 minutes before... Their fall and Halloween wreath sprigs and decorations have been low or completely empty for almost 2 weeks now with no refills... they're also out of Halloween black grapevine wreaths and a lot of other similar items. I understand if they're only going to stock so much for the season... but given how it's only Sept. 27th...this would be prime time to keep these items full and I don't think they should have run out quite yet; their should have been a new shipment by now. Looks like I'm going to have to treck all over Perrysburg and Toledo tonight to get...
