Del Taco — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

The crunchy Snack Taco shells have been extremely stale the past two Tuesdays in a row, January 7th and 14th. This has been a constant issue off and on at multiple Del Taco locations over the last few years. I got stale taco shells alot of the time at Reno and MacArthur in 2022 and 2023, but then it got better for a while. The last time it happened, 2-3 months ago. I called in to report it and the manager acted like this is a problem with whoever delivers their taco shells, etc. and acknowledged that they did have a metallic type taste. It was better for a while after that. I had reported this issue to Del Taco online back in 2022/2023 a couple times. It was that location as well as others (Reno, May, Yukon). Lately, I had been going to this location, the May Avenue location. The crunchy snack Taco shells here were stale the last two visits, both on Tuesday, January 7th, and Tuesday January 14th. I always go on Taco Tuesdays. The tacos are really good when they aren't stale. I've been having to scrape the Taco filling off the stale taco shells and eat it with a bag of tortilla chips I had at home just to be able to eat the food I bought. The shells are absolutely disgusting when served stale. This has been an ongoing issue across multiple locations. After last Tuesday, hoping a different location may be better, I went to the Yukon, Oklahoma, location (Tuesday, January 21st).I am honestly about to give up on Del Taco because these tacos were so disgusting tonight that I had to spit out my first bite because of stale shells. They have a nasty metallic stale taste. You can even smell it. This is how it has been on many occasions at several locations . I don't know if I should take the stale tacos to the health inspector or what because this has been a constant issue off and on for a while across several Del Taco...

Being from Ohio, my family and I found ourselves exploring the unfamiliar terrains of Del Taco in Oklahoma City. The experience was, to say the least, a delightful surprise mixed with a few areas needing improvement.

The first thing you notice at Del Taco is their extensive menu. It's a bit overwhelming, especially for a family of seven like ours. There's a certain pressure one feels when trying to decide what to order while others wait behind you. However, the staff handled this situation beautifully. They were patient, understanding, and even had a second person come to the register to take orders from those behind us. This simple act of customer service made a significant difference in our dining experience.

As for the food, it was nothing short of spectacular. We ordered an array of items - burritos, fries, fish tacos - and each dish was a hit. The fact that none of our five children complained about the food but instead expressed a wish to eat here once a week speaks volumes about the quality of the food. And let's not forget about the affordability; the price was just right, adding to the overall appeal of the place.

However, every rose has its thorns, and in Del Taco's case, it was the cleanliness, or lack thereof. The bathrooms were dirty, and there were dead roaches on both the bathroom and dining room floors. This was a quite unappetizing sight. Despite this, the kitchen area appeared clean and well maintained, which was reassuring.

Del Taco offers an impressive array of delicious food at affordable prices, coupled with commendable customer service. However, they need to address their cleanliness standards, especially in the public access areas. WORST del taco location in Oklahoma City!!!!! DO NOT eat here! I have been to this location many times in the past and had no issues until today. I ordered my usual items which totaled $24. After I was given my order I pulled forward to make sure everything was correct. I noticed they left out one of my kids meals, they gave me guacamole but no chips and they gave me a crunchy taco kids meal instead of the soft taco with no lettuce that I ordered and also a soft taco with no lettuce. I pulled back around to the drive thru and told the woman who previously took my order that it was incorrect. The entire time I was trying to explain what was missing I could hear the kitchen staff screaming in the background that I was wrong. When I approached the window a short dark haired angry woman stuck her head out of the window and told me that I was wrong and they didn’t even show that I ordered what I said was missing. I showed her the receipt and she reached out to take the taco from me and she threw it in the trash and walked away. A “shift supervisor” came to the window and addressed me as “hun” and said how I was incorrect and they gave me everything I ordered. The food was absolutely disgusting and the chip bag was so soaked with grease the bag looked wet. These people should not work in the food industry and need to learn how to speak to customers.
