Just went to go grab breakfast with my boyfriend. When we walked in there was a table open on the other side of the restaurant. There was a waitress standing near the table and we made eye contact, so I pointed to the table and asked if we can sit at that table. She literally rolled her eyes and scoffed at me and turned to talk to another employee. So, I assumed maybe she just didn't hear me or something so we walked up to her and in a dismissive and rude tone she told us we weren't allowed to seat ourselves. Which was fine and understandable, minus the tone and facial expressions to match. We then walked back towards the entrance to wait for a table, she walked up to another group of customers and said "RUDE" very loudly because they had sat themselves. I've worked in customer service for years. Even if you're having a rough day, you should never take it out on the customers and be rude to them. This is the second time I went to JJ's and the second time I've encountered staff with attitudes. That is how you lose business. My boyfriend and I went elsewhere, to a restaurant with better energy. I've lived in old orchard for nine months now and this is the ONLY restaurant that was not...
Read moreCame here because of the ratings and they seem fairly inflated compared to our experience. Great music and liked the atmosphere because we were able to get a spot outside, but the food was another story.
I got the special, a seafood pasta, but half of my ingredients we're missing. Got the pasta, sauce, shrimp and scallops but was missing the lobster, tomatoes and spinach. Pretty disappointed because I was looking forward to the variety of flavor in the dish. My sister got the fried clam basket and got what seemed like old nuked fries with the meal. Father got a burbon and Pepsi, but the first AND second drink didn't taste like much more than Pepsi.
If you're looking for professional service, I don't recommend. After $200, the four person meal didn't seem worth it. I suggest spreading more of the wealth around the pier instead of spending...
Read moreWe were Old Orchard Beach, ME for the night. My partner and our three kiddos decided to go out to eat. Being the off-season, much of the area businesses were closed. We found JJ's and decided to give it a try. We arrived as the musician if the night began his first set (Dan Taylor). The hostess seated us immediately, the waitress shortly thereafter greeted us warmly and took our drink order. Everything else happened just as seamlessly thereafter. My boyfriend's son accidentally poured sugar instead of salt on his mashed potatoes. When the waitress heard this she offered to get him new ones at no extra charge. Everything was amazing--good comfort food, warm and welcoming environment, amazing music, and an amazing deal--5 meals, 4 desserts, 4 regular drinks and two beers, all for under $100. The kids and us declared it a...
