Read moreWe went for an early dinner to try out this new restaurant. Really like the aesthetics of it. It's a beautiful space. Server was very friendly.
Food:
Shisito peppers 4 stars I absolutely love shisito peppers. These were prepared grilled, over top of a polenta mix. I wasn't really a fan of the polenta though. It was interesting but not something I would order again since that's the other half of the dish. I did very much enjoy the peppers though which is why this still gets a 4 and not lower.
Charcuterie 4 stars Enjoyable Standard The meats were 3 of the most common (one I did like, I always forget the name but it has a slight perfume flavor for me, the other two ones I did like ) The cheese of the tray was more impressive. The ricotta with honey was very nice and the other piece was good, but I don't recall our server going over any of it. She just placed it down and left.
Momo dumplings 4ish stars? For my taste, the deep fried ones fall along a higher 3.5-4. I'm not a really big fan of fried dumplings in this style, but it doesn't mean that it's bad, which is why I'm saying this is probably a four-star. I prefer steamed dumplings myself and it was nice that it comes with four sauces with no limitation on how many sauces you get.
Mango and passion fruit puffed pastry 4 stars Quite enjoyable. I could pick out both flavors and they did meld very well.
My initial visit was pretty good, I would come back here and try more things and hopefully find a five-star item next time to upgrade this. It definitely has...
Read moreI travel for work all every week, all week. This affords me the opportunity to eat out frequently. Every day except the weekend I’m in a different City.
After a few years of this eating out trying to find a “good” place to eat has become more of a chore than you might think.
And then I stopped at Cattle call. The first visit was so good, I actually re-arranged my travel plans to get in an extra visit. Everything I have ordered on the menu has been fantastic. Saturday the 11th of August they had a grand opening and added items to the menu. Yea. Previously the Aloo Chops and MOMO’s were great and light and delightful. Now there’s a bit more and WOW.
I ordered the Morgan Ranch Hanger Steak today and I was delighted with the flavors. These are more aligned with European portion sizes but the size of the flavor is out of this world.
OK. I’m a foodie and I skipped all of my meals to be able to try things on the menu as I won’t be in town for a while. I had a brief discussion with the Chef de Cuisine Dom and even decided to try a second entré. Dom recommended the Shishito as a good second savory dish for the evening. I wish I lived closer. Shishito peppers, miller-dohrmann polenta, longwalk sweet corn, ponzu, grana padano. Light, tasty, delicious and delightful.
I’m eventually going to have every item on this menu including the things I would never think to order.
NOT crazy expensive. Spectacularly fresh ingredients prepared with passion and talent. Go there.
