We came from out of town for a concert and picked this place simply because it was right across the street from the venue, and we were blown away. Everything was delicious, and when they say authentic cuisine they mean it! I'm not often so floored that I' motivated to write a review along with a five-star rating, but here we are.
We got the mole poblano enchiladas, steak quesadilla, horchata, and a tamarindo margarita. The corn tortilla for the quesadilla was thick, soft, and clearly freshly homemade. The steak was flavorful and delicious in its simplicity. I'd never had authentic horchata before, but it was scrumptious -- cinnamony, light, and refreshing, with a peanut rim to really pull it all together. It was one of those eating experiences where you have to close your eyes to fully process the deliciousness.
We came mid dinner rush, so every table was seated, but the staff definitely know what they're doing because despite the crowd our order came out 100% accurate. We might come back to Omaha sooner than we thought just to...
Read moreMy friend invited me out and paid for my meal so I didn't get a chance to check out the pricing. Star ratings are based on flavor only and not value.
Many of the dishes came with fries which were more a 3.75 star. It was lukewarm and not crispy enough. All 3 orders we received. Pork Chile and cactus burrito 4.5 stars Steak (ASADA) torta 4.5 stars Both the above would get a 5 star if the fries get improved. I think they recently opened so I'm thinking they may fix the issue.
The quesadilla with ASADA we ordered was great when it first arrived. 5 stars, but eat it quick. As it cools the cheese congeals and it quickly falls into a 3.5 star if you didn't realize it shouldn't be served like that. The first few bites were fantastic but since we had a variety I let it cool off. I ended up packing it and plan to reheat it later when I'm sure will return it back to it's former glory.
Pro tip: get the cucumber drink. It's large and delicious. I heard that it was 5.
