I cannot say enough bad things about our experience here. It was our first time and there is not a snowball's chance in Haiti that we would ever try it again. Maybe if we were offered it for free. $9 each is waaaaaaay too much money to be this disappointed. My mom and I were visiting Old Market and we love rolled ice cream. So when we saw there was a place in walking distance, there was no question. We were going. We walk in and the young man working there was the only person in the place. No smile. No greeting. Not a word. My mom said "Hi" with an extra peppy tone and she got nothing. Not a smile. Not a word. Strike one. We began looking at the menu and there was nothing that appealed to either of us. I asked what ice cream flavor options there were as I was planning to just get the rolls, no toppings. He said "Vanilla". That's it? You do realize you can mix all kinds of things into vanilla ice cream to make brand new flavors, right? I've never been to a rolled ice cream place that only offers vanilla and the house concoctions with no ability to customize your bowl. So that was strike two. He took our order and as I watch him, I can't decide if he really hates his job this much or if he hates his whole life. His overall demeanor was far beyond anyone just having a bad day. We are both very forgiving, recognizing that you never know what a person is dealing with, so don't judge. Have patience and compassion. So we aren't just a couple of Karens. This young man has zero business working in customer service of any kind if this is the absolute best he can do. I could be bleeding out on the floor and if someone walks in and says "Hi" I'm gonna respond. I might even smile if I'm hopeful that I'm gonna make it. He proceeds to make mine and the first roll fell to the floor. I am in no way exaggerating when I say he looked down at it, took a moment to decide what to do, picked it up, looked at it some more and I would bet dollars to donuts he was trying to decide if he could pass it off in the bowl. He did eventually throw it in the trash thankfully. Once he finished mine, he handed it to my mother, since he never bothered to ask who was who. So I took it from her and it was dripping all over the place. The floor, the table, me. I wiped chocolate off my hand and got the dripping contained to the bowl and I've got chocoalte all over my hand again. This guy had smeared chocolate all over the outside of the bowl and didn't bother to wipe off it off. Thanks for that. Strike three and we aren't done yet! By the time he finished my moms, we had been in there for a solid 20 minutes and we were the only ones there! Those two bowls should have been made and served in well under 10 minutes, maybe 5 if you're ambitious and skilled. I've seen a fat kid move faster for a bowl of steamed broccoli. We would have left but you prepay and I wasn't wasting $18. Strike four. That's not even a thing but this place is getting it thanks to this one employee. Now...let's talk quality. The taste. The texture. The temperature. I'd give it a mediocre at best. I could have bought a half gallon of Great Value vanilla, chocolate syrup and whipped topping in a can and had an equivalent level of enjoyment for a fraction of the cost. Not to mention, I wouldn't have had to wait an eternity with someone serving me that appeared to have rather been getting a root canal. Strike five. I did not take the time to paint this picture to be a jackwagon. Upon walking out, I immediately wanted to call the manager or owner but I was having a fun day with my mom. I decided it could wait. Then I decided others should be forewarned before they waste their time and money. I realize that running a business isn't easy, particulary when good help is so hard to find. I empathize whole heartedly. I sincerely hope they can get a handle on this and make this place successful. However, until they do, steer clear.

Not your typical ice cream shop. Mixins creates their own cream and spreads it on a freezer plate while mixing predetermined toppings based on your order. Then they roll it using spatulas and place into a cup with additional toppings and whip cream. There are several ice cream creations to choose from. I don't think you can create your own based on the menu. The menu states $7 per creation but I found out that is the price for the pre-made ice cream in the freezer. If you want it fresh ice cream and watch them create it you pay $8. When we went there, Mixins seemed to be a fan favorite of the area. There are some chairs to sit and enjoy the ice cream. Upbeat music adds energy to the environment.

Really cool but crazy busy! Gotta give it to the teens that run this place, they work really hard and look like they get a work out rolling your ice cream! When we stopped in there was a line out the door and people waiting inside for their order to be made so they could watch. The ice cream was really creative & good. Hopefully, they have more staff and possibly someone for crowd control, once Summer starts to pick up. It’d be nice to get a text or buzzer, when your order gets started, especially when you have little kids and there’s a 20-30 minute wait time.

We didn't have a good experience yesterday. I was really looking forward to it, and it was my husband's birthday. Ya ya ya..names Karen. Have fun with the immaturity of the name. But I'm not the only one having a bad experience at this place. The thing that gets me, is the SAME complaints are being made for several months. The owner responds to these reviews with message me so we can make it right. What's the point ? A free ice cream so we can wait another hour? I dont want free ice cream. I want you to FIX the ISSUES Because NOTHING changes. All these complaints....owner what are you doing to change the problems? Clearly NOTHING. My review is literally same as everyones. Slow employees that work like zombies. No smiles, no customer service skills. They act like they hate their job. There's a few homeless camped out on park bench down the street. I bet they could use a job and do a lot better. I watched a male employee take out garbage, pull the outdoor sign in with his gloves on, didn't change them and walked behind the counter to help make the ice cream. 🤮 at that point I didn't even want it anymore. Thats definitely a health code violation. The cold plates aren't even cleaned off before making another flavor which is also a health code violation. Someone could have an allergy. The cashier leaves from.behind the register to the back room and is standing back there TEXTING. A long line of dishes to still make (at least 15) and she disappears to play on her phone instead of helping. That said, there are at least 15 dishes to make and it's already closing time, yet they continued to let people in and take orders knowing they'd never get them made. Everyone ended up asking for refunds, even people that received their ice cream because towards the end, the employees didn't care and started just slopping ice cream into the dish. This ice cream is a great concept but you'll never survive with these issues being ignored and not fixed. There's too much competition. Noone wants to wait in a long line and still have to wait a half hour or more to receive their order. Maybe this place needs a new owner with some business concepts. I'll never come here again not only due to the wait, but the health code violations gross me out. Don't make ice cream with the same gloves you took out trash with ! Owner...get...

We tried to get ice cream here today for my kids from 4:40pm -5:15pm today, there were approximately 4 orders (cups) ahead of ours when we arrived. I felt bad for the employees trying to roll the ice cream, something happened with their ice cream liquid that kept messing up the consistency so they kept having to remake each order 2-3 times before it was right. We waited for 40 minutes and only 3-4 orders were made during that time as it seemed like only 1 or maybe 2 out of the 5 employees there knew how to actually do the rolling. One was obviously in training and just stood in the back work area or behind the rolling team. The other two were standing by the register to take orders, occasionally squirt a little sauce into cups or talking or the others in the back work area. The employees looked to mostly be high school age and no obvious adult team leader/manager present to answer questions or help guide employees to get the liquid fixed and orders out, which was sorely needed today. And if there was a manager there it seemed like there was a lack of communication and assistance for all these new employees. We eventually had to ask for a refund as we couldn’t keep waiting for them to remake another order in front of ours a second time. I appreciate that the cashier was very polite and she was able to quickly give us a refund that we asked for right away so we could take my kids elsewhere to get ice cream. Would suggest more in person management for this new and...
