Apparently I ran across the same glitch that some others have encountered when ordering from the app.
I received the error that they were too busy to take orders. Tried a couple more times And finally gave up on ASAP. Tried scheduling an hour out, with the same error. And then landed up being able to schedule pickup 2 hours out.
We got to noodles 15 minutes early. Luckily I decided to call to see if they could bring my order to my car. I think I was talking to the manager or shift manager. Unfortunately he did not seem to be the brightest person. Not only was he not helpful, but several times he had to tell me to hold on. Each time not apologizing for the delay. Finally, I was able to give them my confirmation number, only for him to tell me that my order was canceled. Again no apology, or explanation other than trying to blame it on my card then declined. Even though it showed being charged and then them refunding it. Did I say that he didn't apologize? Not only did he say that they did not do curbside, but that I would have to come in to reorder. He wouldn't do it on the phone. Btw, even Jimmy John's brought my order out to my car.
I landed up going in and ordering. As I was explaining it to the friendly cashier (she was truly friendly, especially for me being perturbed), the same guy that I spoke to on the phone tried to explain as to why my order didn't go through again. Again, with no apology and with his behavior acting as if it was my fault. I said I know it's not my card and I'll use it for this purchase. He walked away perturbed. My card worked just fine. I found out later, that other reviewers were having the same issue of their orders getting cancelled with no notification.
I understand that they are new to Onalaska and they are busy. But customer services is customer service whether you are newly opened or not. He was obviously either the shift manager or supervisor, but he seemed to have had no customer service experience at all. Zero stars for that supervisor person (he should not be customer facing), but five stars for the cashier for having to deal with me being annoyed and still...
Read moreGave this place a go today and it's rather disappointing given any other place I could have chosen. I won't say bad by any means but not even above average.
The staff was friendly and the store was clean so this is going to be purely based on the food quality and price.
Food is average at best. I ordered the Spicy Korean Beef Noodles with beef and it tasted like it was buried in sugar, nor was it spicy. The sugar drown out any chance of it being spicy. I ordered the chicken noodle soup as my side. The side of chicken noodle soup included with my meal I wouldn't even consider being a kid's size portion. It was literally two bites. I paid $3.50 for a bottle of coke and two bites of chicken noodle soup.
My wife ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp. Again, crazy sweet. Her side was the mac and cheese. Portion seemed fine for a side and it was very good.
This is what turns me away here - the meats are extra cost. Not extra meat; any meat. It's straight up on the board listed like that so I'm not saying it's deceptive by any means, but you're then paying $10 for a handful of noodles and $3.50 for steak or shrimp. Chicken and a few other choices are listed at a lesser cost. $38 for two meals and a side of soup for my wife and I seems INSANE. Oh, and the Thai Chicken Soup my wife ordered was also insanely sweet.
All-in-all it will be unlikely I will eat here again. The extreme sweetness of every dish and the price were off-putting. I wouldn't go so far as to call the place awful or terrible, but...
Read moreFood is decent enough, with alright serving sizes, though at higher than you'd expect prices. However, at the end of the day this is a food establishment that does not expect sit down diners, even if it is offered. To that end I need to comment on order accuracy: 3 times. 3-out-of-3. Orders have been wrong 100% of the time so far, which is rather impressive. The solution might be to check, which I have for the last two, and because I don't know the entire menu and all of what each item includes I miss things that I should not have to know are in the bag.
Mistakes happen and are often no big deal. Three times in a row? Come now. First time was a chicken parmesan without the chicken parmesan. Second time was shrimp pad thai without the shrimp. This time was a Green Goddess Chicken Cobb salab without the included sauce, which is a big part of that particular dish.
At this point I have a legitimately higher rate of accuracy getting food from Taco Bell.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I did return the first two times to get the order corrected. Which they did correct. Heck, I even got to watch them dig through the Pad Thai to check if there was any shrimp. Neither of these times was I offered even a discount coupon. The only comp received was a new dish and an offer to keep my old...
