Texas Roadhouse — Restaurant in Opelika

Tuesday was a movie. A movie with 1% on Rotten Tomatoes. :/ We were happy to wait an hour on their waitlist for those sweet sweet rolls. We were seated fine around 6:42pm and the waiter took our drink order. We ordered a cactus blossom and rattlesnake bites. Only one of the four of my group ordered an entree, the rest of us had baked potatoes and salads. What happened next was insane. Our waiter seemed nice enough, but unfortunately our order was wrong for my friend x3. She ordered a loaded baked potato with no sour cream. What? How do you get it wrong three times? We watched him write it down? We got our salads but had to remind him of the cactus blossom, to which he informed us that it had 'broken in half' and had to be remade, but not to worry, he would throw hands to get us our cactus blossom. Sadly, the cactus blossom was almost inedible because of how undercooked it was. The salads were great, but I also received my apple pie before my other friend got her entree... Our waiter was apologetic but kept talking about how he was fighting the kitchen staff over food for us. It was bizarre. We also heard the Texas Roadhouse theme song 4x and it was so frustrating to be waiting on a loaded baked potato and my friend's entree while watching our waiter line dance or go in a line clapping for someone's birthday. Do you know how it felt to eat an apple pie before someone gets their entree? Let me tell you, I didn't feel great. I also think at one point he took my water cup to refill it and never brought it back. I was so thirsty. The upside was that we asked a bunch of other waiters for more rolls, and we did receive them. We did not receive the plain butter we asked for until the 3rd time we asked, however. By 8:30, we were ready to leave and asked a passing waitress for the manager. Please note, my friend still had not gotten her entree. We had paid at the kiosk and waited longer for my friend's entree. As soon as the manager came over to our table, there was our waiter with the to-go entree that we ordered FOR THERE TO BE EATEN THERE but had to be taken to-go because we had to get out of there to preserve our sanity. The entree was also WRONG and had mushrooms when we had asked for no mushrooms. The entire experience was like we were in purgatory. I looked around at one point, thinking to myself, "What would I do if i ever got to leave here?". Anyways. As soon as the waiter brought my friend's entree the manager just walked away?????? Without asking what was wrong??????? We all spent $30 and we all tipped anyways for some reason. I wish we hadn't been psychologically broken down so much by the end of the night that we could have told a manager what was happening. I don't think she cared. We saw several tables come and go. We asked the table behind us if they'd been there long and they told us they hadn't but they found a hair baked into their rolls and had their meals comped. The entire experience was bizarre. Absolutely TERRIBLE! We had a 20-30 minute wait time, that was fine. There was a party of 25 people so we understood there would be a wait. Well, we get to the table one over from the party of 25 to find out our server is theirs and ours. Great. We had to wait 10-15 minutes for everything from drink order, to rolls, to food order and then app. Not off to a good start… then we wait for an OVER AN HOUR for our food with one drink refill. The drinks were wrong anyways. We see 3 servers just standing around this busy place, not helping or doing anything. But we’re patient. Everyone has time do birthday songs and sing and dance every hour but not get drinks or our order? Whatever, we had some rolls. Music gets louder by the hour. Finally get our food- 3 out of 4 steaks were so undercooked they weren’t edible. We asked for all medium steaks. How hard is that?! You need a meat thermometer or something? After a damn hour of waiting on it I expected it to be burnt from the depths of hell…. Not so undercooked I should t shot my own cow. The side of vegetables weren’t cooked either. I asked for mine to be up cooked or taken off- she takes my plate and doesn’t come back with it-AT ALL. Ever. So I tell her to bring it back cooked right or just take it off. She decides she will take it off the bill without going to the kitchen. My husbands $30 steak was so raw it was cold to the touch and even colder inside. A cigarette lighter would’ve cooked it more than that. No manager comes, nothing. We are here for ANOTHER HOUR, no checks, no refills, nothing. Just watching our server and 3 others take care of everyone else. What’s the manager doing??? Hanging out with her buddies at another computer. FINALLY get the checks and a kids drink refill and we FINALLY leave. Not to mention my sons burger patties were so small I should’ve went to McDonald’s for a better burger. I mean what the hell is going on?!?!?! How is it possible to be so shitty and still have business. After almost 3 hours we’re finally able to leave, and leave HUNGRY. I ended up cooking at home where at least I know I’m going to get COOKED FOOD at a TIMELY MANNER. I get our server was busy, but you can actively get drinks and tend to everyone else including the party but not us? I was patient and nice, but I should’ve obviously been shitty or maybe I would have gotten better service. Who brings 4 out of 5 drinks to a table and gives it to the wrong people??? I called last night at 6 to join the waitlist for my 10 people group and the lady on the phone said that they could get us in around 730. She said that I will receive a text message and when all of us arrive to text HERE to be automatically checked in and that we won’t have to go up to the hostess to check in. So we all arrived at 7:15 and I texted HERE and I got the confirmation that we were successfully checked in. So we all wait and wait and wait and wait. So finally at 8 my fiancé’s nephew went up there and asked how much longer it was going to be. 50 MINUTES!!! Like what!?! He was told that we should’ve checked in at the desk when we got there. What’s the whole point of the text then and telling us that we didn’t have to. So then my fiancé goes up there and she tells him that another big party came in not long before we was coming. So we decided to wait some more. 15 mins we were told that they cleaning off our tables. Awesome we can finally sit down and eat. NOPE! Another 10 mins go by. They call a party of 12 up (that got there way after us) to take them to a table. Like what in the actual you know what. So my fiancé goes up there to see what in the world is going on. Well after he talked to them for about 5 mins they decided to FINALLY get us to the tables after an hour and half after checking in. Yesterday was a very special day my fiancé’s sister, her 2 sons, her sons girlfriend, and his best friend drove from Tennessee and south Florida to surprise me with the best proposal ever!!! Plus he hasn’t seen them in over 1-2 years. Some people may wonder why not go somewhere else well most places had a 40 min wait and Texas Roadhouse has great food and we all wanted that. Plus we were already there for 45 mins and by the time we go in somewhere else we could’ve got in here. The food was absolutely amazing as you expect.
