Charleys Cheesesteaks — Restaurant in Oregon

I would of gave one start for my service last night. But I gave 2 because there’s usually a woman that works the cash register every time I come. She is the reason for your 2 stars she needs to recogined. I even did a survey on her and asked her if she heard about it, and she said no. So management here is not on my side. She’s awesome! & I hope she becomes recognized for good service.

However, last night I came in and we told the guy we wanted a Philly cheese steak in which he began to ring in the order but before giving him my card I asked him to change the order to the chicken one because i enjoy chicken a lot more plus you can get fries with it. He then told me no I can not change my order because the guy was making it. I was mad that I had to pay for a sandwhich I did NOT want. I should of just walked away. I ended up having to purchase two sandwhiches. The chicken one which I wanted was great however I did NOT like the steak one at all. It was sauggy and not good. I’m disappointed in coming here last night.

My girlfriend went here today. It took over 10 minutes for her to order a steak sandwich with no bell peppers, no onions and extra mushrooms. The woman that worked the register was an older, Hispanic woman that barely spoke any English. My girlfriend patiently tried to communicate for the next 10 minutes. Ironically the woman that does not speak, mind you the same language as the menu and language on our, receipt, became frustrated with my girlfriend, as though she was not communicating what she wanted correctly. I think owner should avoid assigning this woman to the registers. I guarantee you any person that comes here will become frustrated by this woman’s inability to communicate! We are talking about ordering a sandwich here! Can you imagine having a 30 minute lunch? and before you could even sit down and enjoy your sandwich half of your lunch break is over, simply because the cashier didn’t understand: extra mushrooms, no onions, no bell peppers! . The owner should reconsider assigning this women a cashiers position. My family learned English, We have people move here from overseas that speak better English than our neighbors! We were at the food court at Clackamas Towne Center today trying to figure out where to eat. It was a tough choice since it’s all chain fast food, basically. My wife and I love cheesesteaks and someone in line said “everything is great here” when I asked what she was ordering. So we went for it.

We split a large Philly cheesesteak that came with grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, along with provolone cheese, mayo, lettuce, and tomato. I usually don’t get lettuce and tomato on my cheesesteaks, but I’m glad I did this time because the cheesesteak was so small and lacking substance like meat (!) that the largest (12”???) actually turned out to be more of a small. See the photos and notice the one half thet looks like half of the fillings are missing. It was disappointing, but the taste was pretty good. Not too bad and about what you’d expect at a food court.
