Rude service and bad food preparation. Ordered a slim Jim sandwich to go and felt very nervous about the rude service, it was almost like she was angry. I could deal with that for take out food but it was equally nasty. The sand which had two giant lettuce 'cores' that I couldn't even bite through. Who thinks that's acceptable when making a sandwich? Don't they train these people? They can't tell the difference between a leaf of lettuce and a rock hard core which should've been in the trash? They can't find help, boo hoo. But they could at least try to make edible food, especially now with rising prices. Line cooks are not chefs, but it's unacceptable not to make a sandwich as it's advertised. In the end, it's a reflection of poor management and only the corporation is benefiting without caring about their products.

Today was my first time out to a restaurant in six months and I had the worst experience I have ever had. We both ordered multigrain hotcakes and VERY well done bacon. After waiting a half hour for our order, we both received undercooked bacon and I received plain pancakes. The plain pancakes and the bacon went back to the kitchen. After another 15 or so minutes, multigrain pancakes and well done bacon was delivered. This time, the strawberries on the pancakes were decidedly substandard. There was not a ripe berry on the plate. The manager tried to claim that the berries were satisfactory and could not understand my complaint. Because it appears to me that you have such a low standard of quality, I will not be going to your restaurant again.

It broke my heart that the Big Boy on Dixie in Clarkston has closed permanently. I have been going to that location since I was a kid. Yesterday, a friend and I went to Great Lakes Crossing to pick up a couple of things and noticed the one located on Baldwin. I was so excited to see it open. We stopped in for lunch because I really wanted a slim jim and some of their cole slaw. I also had a side of fresh fruit which consisted of strawberries and grapes. We did have to wait a while for our food but could see the kitchen staff working and doing their absolute best to keep up. The greeter and our waitress were both really nice. I took a pic of the first part of my meal but instantly devoured my sandwich when it arrived. LoL!

Hello, my name is Andrew and I'm coming here today to write a review on behalf of myself and my experiences working at this establishment. I want to preface this by saying Big Boy was my FIRST employer. I am 17 years old and worked at this restaurant in 2020 from June to Ocotober. When I was hired we were short-staffed but not severely. I liked it at first, loved it really. The people were friendly. I was a waiter/server. My tips every night were amazing for a Highschooler especially under a pandemic. I convinced the managers to hire in two of my bestfriends who were also looking for employment. (That comes into play later.) Around a month to two months later there was a lot of drama that unfolded. Managers bickering, toxic behaviors and laziness scattered through there. One manager I believe was having some "issues" so she quit and never returned. This was the start of the downfall. After, our General Manager started to become unbearably strict and controlling. That drove one of my best friends and another waiter to quit. Tentions started to rise between us all and created more toxic situations.

To save you time reading, in the next month unfolding there were exactly 7 peoole who either we're fired or quit. Thats insane! So many things were going downhill FAST. We we're left with 3 servers including me, two managers including one manager that was filling as a cook.

Finally, in the middle of October, I was working and I was told that the restaurant is shutting down for LESS THAN 4 days for "cleaning and renewing." As it turns out, that was not the case. Things we're getting so bad in fact that Big Boy Corporate was taking control of the restaurant.. It was closed for more than a month and NOBODY had ANY communication. I was without money for over a month. Us workers we're completely shut out, and the only way that I knew was because when they reopened I went in there and talked with the new AND CURRENT manager. her name is Melanie. I was told that all servers would keep their positions yet I never got a call back to refill my seat. The other bestfriend who was a dishwasher never received her call either. My W-2 Tax form was also late being sent out which was a whole battle between Corporate and the old owner.

Another thing, I'm not saying there was any health violations but regardless of how much we cleaned that place was always dirty. Customers even noticed the amount of flies swarming the place in the summer months. it was disgusting and flat out wrong.

I thank you for your time reading this review. I really hope that the public appreciates this. I hope that Big Boy Corporate doesnt take this review down either. Just to give a recap.. This place was under poor management, toxic environments and uncleanliness. If I were you, I would avoid coming to this restaurant even under the new ownership. I know I certainly won't be returning. Have a wonderful day snd stay safe during these...

This had to be the absolute worst dinning experience I’ve ever had. I have never been an overly critical person, however, the way my table had been waited on (to include the undercooked, cold food I received) was mind-blowing. The waitress was absolutely clueless as to what she was even doing, distributing dirty glass wear with lipstick smeared along the rim of my coffee cup. After I requested a new cup of coffee, she simply walked over, handed me an empty cup, and walked off, expecting me to transfer the coffee from the dirty cup into the new one? My husband ended up walking over with my empty cup to receive fresh coffee in it. During our wait for our food, the staff was more or less carrying out full conversations with each other, loudly across the dining area as if they were the only ones in there. I get that fun and conversation between employees is expected, but not to a disruptive degree like they had carried on. Our food was finally served, and my burger was completely cold. Taking one more bite, I saw that it was not cooked in the center completely. I requested it be taken and removed from the bill, which it was. I was not about to chance a replacement. Not one dish, including the dirty initial coffee cup, had not been removed from the table. It was clear that this girl was completely confused, new, or just simply didn’t care about customers nor her job. My family rarely gets to go out to eat, which made this experience especially disappointing. We will...

Can I give no star's? How in the world is this place even open..? That's my question. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. Do they hire there people at drug houses? So trashy. This was my time here -Wait about 5 minutes to be seated -Had to ask for kid's menus because we weren't given any. We had 4 kid's with us. -Seated and it took about 10 minutes to be asked what we we're drinking (we we're ready to order also) -Another 10 minutes goes by and she brings us the 2 drinks for the adults. The pop is flat. Disgisting! -Approximately 8 minutes later she then brings the kid's drinks. While waiting one waitress sounded like she had bronchitis and was coughing so disgusting right in front of the pop machine & ice (did i mention she wasn't covering her mouth & making drinks 😷) Finally we get food. Ugh. I wouldn't feed it to the homeless. The ranch looks like tarter sauce and my 2 year old could cook better.

Oh and I wasn't the only one complaining. When we went to "pay" I made sure to let them know. They said "sorry" and didn't make us pay. There excuse for it all was... We're under-staffed. Ha! How are you in business is what I said. Hope you don't waste your...
