Third time visiting within 2 weeks. They advertised a Harry Pottery event the 1st time. I asked if it was outdoors to an employee that was setting up a tent. He acted as if the question was strange and pointed to the restaurant as if I should know exactly what to do. Okay....thanks. Went inside to order. The cashier acted like she didn't know about the event food I was requesting and giving looks as if I was strange to be placing an order. After paying for the food, then asking for it at the spot where it was left, the guy ask if I "paid" for it. Okay...."Yes, I did." I reply. I leave, then go back inside for utensils and his attitude is completely changed. Calling me ma'am. I assume to show respect that wasn't there before. Second visit, same cashier was still acting as if an alien placed an order. Third visit, 4, FOUR!!!, employees walk right passed me while waiting to order. Not a hello, someone will be with, have you been helped?.... absolutely nothing. In comes a couple, and an employee IMMEDIATELY smiles, greets them, and ask how he can help them while handing them menus. Then looks at me and back to them..... Two old guys walk in and sit down. Within a minute, the cashier behind the bar brings over a drink and sets it in front of one of them. Chats with them, then looks over at me to say she will be wit me... Finally comes over and ask "Am I well?" Not, may I take your order or would you like to see a menu..... Just, am I well??? As if I have fainted or waiting at an urgent care facility and not a restaurant where I am standing at thr register like a normal person/customer. I say to her, "I am doing wonderful. I am a customer and would like to be waited on". She says, "that's why I am asking if you are well. You can sit at a table and I can take your order or here at the bar". I pause, look at her, said "that's okay" and walk out to continue on with my afternoon plans of taking photos in the park...To sum it up, I can take this as I am clearly not wanted at this establishment. Each time I am highly presentable: clean and wonderfully scented, respectfully dressed, and polite on each visit. Yes, to your question- I am a black woman. Not a crazy person, not someone begging for food, not a rude person. Just a black woman. On each encounter, the customers were all white, except this time. A black lady and white man together. Now, the guy who asked if I paid the first visit, was black. And the only black employee that I saw. Way to go with ensuring our kind is treated well...... Today's visit, date and time Thursday June 15th at 3:15pm To the owner, a bit of info about me: My profession is setting up very complex computer systems for healthcare and pharmaceutical clients. I vary well may have set up benefits for your business if you provide insurance to your employees. *Your pancakes, burgers, and fries are delicious. I have not eaten beef meat in 5 years and was going to try the spinach/artichoke dip this visit. I told my adult daughter she should try the pancakes. As, I let the 1st & 2nd visits go. Your wonderful employees can rest assured that the type of customers they desire to serve will not include me thus further. And I will do them the favor of ill-advising anyone of my color to visit....

Just getting home from a dinner at World of Beer (WOB) Orlando. First, I have to say that my spouse and I have walked past this restaurant on several occasions and from the outside it always looked fun and as if it was a neighborhood favorite. We took a seat at an outside table overlooking Lake Eola. The girl who approached the table was pleasant and offered to get us drinks.. My first thing I said to her was that I was really excited to be here Because we always pass by and it’s just been a place on our list to try. After the casualties, she left and brought us our waters and a few minutes later came back to tell me we would have a different server, which was totally fine.
The unpleasant happened once the next server approached us and explained that it was the restaurant policy to ask for a credit card upfront. I assume this is to be able to prove that we can pay or so that we don’t eat and leave without paying.. I gave him my card as requested. After a few minutes of looking around, I realized that there were other tables that had just arrived, who had also ordered drinks and nobody, but us were asked for a credit card to prove our worthiness of payment. In today’s day and age and different political views, it is very easy for someone to start thinking ‘why would they only need it from me?’. All of a sudden, I realized that my spouse and I were the only Latinos in that area of the restaurant and the only ones that were asked for proof of payment.
The original girl did stop by and I asked her why we had to provide a payment when nobody else did. She seem to have gotten annoyed and basically told me that it was her fault because she did not ask for credit cards, but the procedure was to ask for credit cards before serving. She apologized and almost mockingly asked me if I wanted to speak to her supervisor. I declined to speak to supervisor as I didn’t see a point in making this bigger since the harm had been done and I’m not the type of person to attract unnecessary attention
I truly don’t mind if the policy is to ask for a credit card before service but what really bothers me is that I was singled out whether on purpose or not. The waiter we got was a bit more empathetic and apologized after telling him what happened and expressing that we probably won’t be back. He asked me to try them again and he assured me that world of beer is better than that. I think I would if there were more people like him there versus the girl that seemed annoyed and now every time she came around wouldn’t look me in the eye with an aditude.
First impression say everything. This was my experience and it wasn’t a good one. I am rating this two stars because of the professionalism of the young male waiter and his response.
We’ve been to many restaurants in the area and as far as service is concerned, they blow this place away. If you are looking for a nice atmosphere, it does have a beautiful view of the lake, but there’s so many other...
Read moreUPDATE: Over two weeks have passed since I left my review and the manager asked me to email the establishment for assistance. I emailed the establishment at the email address provided THREE TIMES. I did not receive any type of reply. Management replying to these Google reviews is all a facade. They don’t truly care about the disappointing events occurring within their walls or making them right. Complete phonies.
My boyfriend and I recently dined here and we will not be back…
I’ll start with the only two positive take aways from our visit: The beer cheese. The tater tots. They were both absolutely delicious!
Now the negatives from our experience:
-SHOTS ARE 100% WATERED DOWN! We ordered two $6 shots of Tito’s Vodka with lime. I could tell instantly they didn’t have that off-putting, strong alcohol smell that Tito’s has to me. They smelled like water and tasted like water. I cannot take a small sip of Tito’s without a chaser and this shot required no chaser at all.
-My boyfriend and I ordered the same meal; Mac Bite Burger, medium-rare. We specified no lettuce on one burger and they both came out with lettuce. The waitress walked by and saw my boyfriend picking the lettuce off and said nothing. Although they were both ordered medium-rare, they were both clearly well done. Once we had bitten into the burgers, we did not see our waitress again for an extended amount of time to even alert her of the cooking error.
-After not seeing our waitress for 20 minutes (our drinks, appetizer, and entrees were all brought out by different people) we had to ask for napkins and to-go containers. The containers brought to us were clearly too small for the amount of food we had left but she dropped them on the table in passing and walked away quickly. We asked for an additional one because they were so small then the waitress finally brought us larger ones. We had to ask for sauce containers as we had $9 worth of extra Beer Cheese we wanted to take with us as well and she didn’t bring any sauce containers with the to-go boxes. Asking for these things was not the issue. The issue was how infrequently our waitress was around at this point and we were having to wait 8-10 minutes between each request.
-When our bill was brought to our table the clip board had someone else’s credit card clipped to it. We couldn’t even alert the waitress because she never came back! We could see on our receipt that the correct card (ours- which was already handed back to us) was charged for the correct items, so we’re unsure why this card was even with our receipt and we just left it on the table.
We paid almost $100 for two people (two shots, two drinks, one shared appetizer, two entrees, and extra beer cheese). For that price, we should not have felt as disappointed as we did and will not...
