Ramen Hachi — Restaurant in Oxford Township

I feel like I should leave a review to warn other customers. A person whom I assume was the owner was so rude to me that I started crying and left without ordering anything. I had previously eaten at Ramen Hachi and the ramen I had was pretty good. The takoyaki was just okay - they use pre-made frozen takoyaki and deep fry it, which I could easily buy at the asian market and fry myself, so I think that's a rip off for customers. Frozen food should not be on the menu at a restaurant for high prices. Moreover, I stood at the door and waited to be seated for over ten minutes in an empty restuarant, since there was a sign that said 'wait to be seated' at the door. However, the workers cannot see the door from the kitchen, and there is no host to greet you at the door itself. So you just stand there and wait at the door for ages, wasting your time. So I finally just sat down by myself after waiting for as long as I possibly could, and was finally greeted by someone who took my order and I had my meal. Then, during my second visit, the exact same thing happened. I walked in, and there was a sign that said 'wait to be seated' in a nearly empty restaurant. There was only one other table of customers in the entire restaurant, and it was during a slow afternoon period on a weekday. So I stood at the front door and waited to be seated once again for over ten minutes. But I only have so much time on my lunch break, so once again, I seated myself at a table hoping someone would notice me. The owner (who had been ignoring me at the door for ten minutes) then immediately walked up to me and yelled, 'did you not see the sign?? it said wait to be seated!' and stormed away. I was so embarassed that I started to cry, and I just left immediately. I did wait, you complete jerk. I waited for over ten minutes until I couldn't wait anymore. Customers should never be treated this way, especially when they've done nothing wrong. It's your fault that you failed to greet someone at the door for over ten minutes. If you can't see customers from the kitchen, and you're so incompetent that you can't place a doorbell in the kitchen to notify you that someone has walked into your restuarant, then you don't put a sign at the door that says 'wait to be seated' - people aren't going to wait for the rest of their lives. They're obviously going to seat themselves, and that shouldn't be a surprise. Also, I would have thought they'd be glad for the business, since the place was so dead, but apparently not. I also work in a restaurant, and I would never dream of treating a customer that way, and it's not like he needed the tables for other customers - the restaurant was completely dead. Just an all around horrible experience. In short, I don't recommend...

Wow!!! I'm so happy we loved this place !!! It was my first Ramen restraunt !! I have never ate Ramen other than the store bought microwave in 5 minutes kind.

We always have a large group ,so we called a day ahead to see if they could accommodate us. Which obviously they could. We got to the restaurant, and they had already had our tables set up!!

Those of us who were there went ahead and ordered some specialty drinks and appizters!! My drink I love ❤️ and from what it seemed everyone loved their drinks !!! Some of the kids didn't like their drinks, but( they are picky kids, and they just ordered random drinks without actually listening to what they were. We knew this was going to happen.)

We received our drinks fast considering how many we had. The appizters also came out quickly !!!

The ordering process was slower but not because of the restraunt but because of us. It was about half of us who had Ramen before, and the other half hadn't. The waitress walked us through it perfectly!! She made great suggestions and helped us with all of our questions!!!

We received our meals also quickly considering how much food we ordered!! Now that's the best part!! This food was so good!!! The mi-so hot was amazing, and the curry chicken rice bowl SoFeakingGood

We had a large group of 16, so I did call a couple days ahead to see if they could accommodate us. They gladly did and I am so thankful they did because we all had a great time!

The restaurant was clean and beautiful! The staff was so kind and very helpful!!

Every single one of us ordered a different tea or drink! We all took turns trying each others! I was surprised at how much I loved each different drink!

The food was AMAZING! Almost all of us were new to ramen. We also had 6 kids, and I was shocked to see my extremely picky 5 year old eat all that ramen! 🤣

We started with chashu bun, chicken karaage, gyoza dumpling, edamame and crispy takoyaki! Every. Single. Dish was absolutely delicious! The kids loved the dumplings and the chicken!

I ordered the miso-hungry with extra noodles and split it between my 3 kids! They are younger and still had some left!!

For myself I ordered the curry karaage don and mi-so-hot. (I wanted to try both 😂) WOW. Freaking amazing! I definitely had plenty leftover but I will most definitely order both of...
