Back Nine Oxford — Restaurant in Oxford

Food was pretty good, even though we only got appetizers. Well, we only got appetizers because the service was probably the worst I’ve experienced in Oxford. We booked a bay, just for an hour. The server (unsure of his name, he didn’t introduce himself but he was wearing a powder blue Ole Miss hat) informed us we would be charged if we were in the restaurant for longer than an hour. This wasn’t stated on the website when we made a reservation. We knew we could only use the bay for an hour but we weren’t aware that we would be charged if it took longer than an hour for us to order, receive our food, eat, and cash out. We were okay with this, but the server continually walked away while we attempted to order. He dropped off our drinks and immediately left, and did the same with appetizers. Google reviews and other people have told me how great Back Nine was, and I was extremely disappointed by the lack of service and lack of hospitality. Very disappointed, but it's partly our own fault because we didn't get reservations anywhere else. We found this place off the square and decided to give it a try. Were seated outside at our request, which was fine. However, many of the food options on the menu were "sold out" - so we had to settle for our 3rd or 4th option in most cases. Then, when we got the bill, it included an item or two we tried ordering but they didn't have it. (Only discovered this when I asked for an itemized receipt, because it seemed "high" for what we ordered). I took the receipt in for correction (after they had already run the card at the table), and they told me they would "credit" it on my credit card and I'd see the adjustment in 10-14 days. Well, it's been almost a month and I still haven't seen the adjustment. Word of advice - check your receipt carefully! And get reservations someplace else, in advance....

This place was nothing short of excellent. First off the atmosphere is amazing and whoever is in control of the music, Absolutley immaculate music taste. For my appetizer I got the cheese curds and they were practically gone within seconds. I did leave a couple for this fly that kept flying around the table he seemed a lil hungry. I got Coke Zero for my drink and it was so crispy and refreshing and the cup it came in had a lil hole in the side for my thumb and it was so comfortable. For my main I got a burger with fries and oh my good god the burger had me feeling some typa way. The meat was so juicy and tender and the bun was glistening 😩 The fries were so crispy and salted to perfection. This place is a 10/10 I would reccomend it to everyone.
