Went for early Valentines Dinner with my Wife. Parking is slightly awkward here, but plentiful, you have to park in back and walk around the side and through a large pleasant breezeway, is all attractive. This Larsen's Grill has a really nice layout and feel, great architecture, design and ambiance with a wide variety of areas and choices for seating. We were greeted promptly and taken to a table, but we did not like the location and arrangement so requested a booth and were immediately and graciously given a booth (our choice really). Service was very pleasant but our main server was a bit distracted and less attentive than she really should have been, she was frequently conversing with other servers. They have a good Wine List, with some very good and reasonable choices, my Wife enjoyed Rose Champagne (Splits). We started with Salads which they allowed us to Substitute, Tomato & Fresh Burrata w/Pesto & Balsamic and a Wedge Salad, both of which were Excellent. We shared a Valentine Special of NY & Lobster Tails (2) with Fries and Desert included. Lobster was very good but NY was small and very average, bland and slightly tough, fries were good but again rather small serving. We had a Sponge Cake with Fruit and Ice Cream, which was not bad all together. This was a pricey evening, but we did enjoy ourselves and do really like this Larsen's, the location is good, layout and ambiance are fantastic, and the overall Menu and Wine List are Excellent. 02/25/25, went in for Happy Hour and Apps, was a super nice experience. Started with my wife calling restaurant ahead, she spoke with Daisy who was an ablsolute Doll. Daisy wnat and grabbed a Happy Hour Menu and lieterally read off all the App's, she also let us know that they were fully booked for the evening so to show up a few minutes early, but not to early so we would not be getting cold outside, Daisy was super bright, informative and totally kind/sweet. We arrived a few minutes early, had a nice time tlaking with several other groupls of people all doing the same, witing for doors to open, which they did right at 5PM. We sat at the bar and had excellent service from everyone on hand, they were always on top of anything and everything. We both had a Wedge Salad which delicious, nice sized and very reasonable at $10. I had Kobe Sliders, Rare, cooked perfectly and they had fantastic Flavor, served with fresh dill slices, tomato, lettuce & ketchup. My wife had Fish Tacos, she said they were very good and they were quite large really, like a full mouthful to take a bite. I had soda, and this was the first time I have ever experienced being given a Carafe of Soda with a perfect amount of ice, so I could refill at will, too cool. My wife had a Moscow Mule and House Margarita, she said the Margarita was delicious. We also really like this particular Larsen's Space, I think it is really warm and classy inside, love the lighting, large art pieces, spaces and layout. They also had a piano player in the bar/lounge area. The entire place was Full within 30 - 45 Minutes of opening, and totally buzzing. Very Fun experience. A Special Thanks to Daisy !! The Nielsens

Made a large party reservation inside the private room and I have to say that the service at Larsen's is on point. I had to make multiple calls to modify the number as well as ask them several questions and I received courteous answers each time despite the number of times I had to call in. Throughout the meal, the waitress Aly (Alyssa) was very patient and accommodating to our party size and deserves applause for how she provided service to us. Food-wise, everyone ordered a wide arrange of food, but we didn't hear a single complaint from our guests (party size of 17). From the children to the wise adults, everyone enjoyed their food from visual appeal to the taste of the food. Of the several steakhouses I've been to, this was probably one of the few steakhouses that I've been to that puts quite a bit of effort in not just their main entrees, but also their appetizers and sides. Even something as tiny as the chips in the spinach and artichoke dip and something as integral as the tuna tartare; everyone was surprised at how well seasoned the tuna was (it reminded me of a nice tuna poki) and how crisp the chips were for the dip along with how much spinach and artichoke was in the dip itself. The entrées were done very well and visually very appealing. The tomahawk steak was of notable visual appeal and amazingly tender. The sea bass was a noticeable size with moist and flakey inside. The mashed potato sides and grilled asparagus were a favorite amongst everyone and the mac and cheese made people quite envious and considered order another side for their entrée. From my personal view point, the wet aged steak (New York Strip) was very flavorful and tender. Better than a normal steak in my opinion and made quite nicely. The temperature was right and the season was on point where it wasn't overly salty and you can still taste the full flavor of the steak. The mashed potato side was very smooth and buttery to the taste. Doesn't feel overly heavy so I wonder if it's whipped mashed potato too. The grilled asparagus was nicely prepared and still tender to the bite while being grilled and not burnt. Again, I loved how attentive they were with even their sides. All in all, I was quite pleased with how the event and food were handled by Larsen's. I highly recommend them for a special occasion and their food is quite exceptional in my opinion. As told, the dry would be higher in tenderness, but a bit less in flavor compared to a wet aged steak. One day, I'll be able to do a side-by-side comparison perhaps. Until then, definitely worth a try for you to formulate your opinions.

Larsen's Grill in Oxnard offers a refined and cozy dining experience, perfect for a special occasion or an upscale night out. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with wood accents, stone walls, and dim lighting that creates a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. The menu is diverse, featuring everything from prime steaks to fresh seafood. I tried the Filet Mignon, which was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and paired beautifully with their creamy mashed potatoes. For seafood, the Macadamia Crusted Sea Bass was a standout, with a delicate crunch and a rich, buttery finish. The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, offering excellent wine pairing recommendations and making sure our glasses were always full. While Larsen's leans toward the pricier side, the quality of the food and the overall dining experience make it worth the splurge. Whether you're celebrating a milestone or simply want to treat yourself, this place delivers. Don’t skip the Butter cake for dessert the perfect sweet ending to a memorable meal!

Honestly we won't be going back to Larsen's. My husband made reservations 8/16/2022 at 6:15pm and we were right on time. When we walked in two girls behind the counter never acknowledge us until a few minuets later and said to us we will be right with you. They continued on talking after a few more minutes passed by and I'm saying long minutes the girl finally said... just the two of you? We said yes. We have reservations the girl then asked if we would like a table or booth? When my husband made reservations online he had told them a table. I don't know why they would ask again. Mind you they were not busy! Never said Happy Anniversary because when you make reservations they ask if you are celebrating anything so my husband let them know it was our Anniversary. We get seated and order, the waitress was nice but very quick and at the end the waitress hoovers over you which I think is very rude when you pay with your credit card and watch how much you will tip them. Then we get a text on our phone from Larsen's when we get home saying... we need to cancel our reservations if we couldn't make it because it's easier for Larsen's to accommodate other people. HELLO LARSENS WE WERE THERE AND ON TIME WE HAVE OUR HIGH EXPENSIVE RECEIEPT TO PROVE IT! LARSEN'S NEEDS TO CHECK BETTER BEFORE THEY SEND OUT A TEXT LIKE THAT. And yes I agree with everyone else it's PRICEY FOR WHAT YOU GET! AND THEY WERE NOT BUSY. GET WITH IT LARSEN'S IN OXNARD I CAN SEE YOU GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SOON. P.S. We also tried to call several times and no one ever answered the phone just a recording. Hopefully the manager will...
