View my edit further down - Day 4 of the Oxnard location. Have been waiting for this location to open!! I've never been in a Shake Shack that was this packed! The food was great, the staff was helpful! Only kink was the music was a little loud but in fairness the customers were loud so maybe that was the problem. The drive thru is a bonus!!! LOVE Shake Shack and so glad they came to Oxnard. *EDIT: it pains me to come back and change my review because I LOVE Shake Shack but here I am. A week and a half after opening and I've been 4 times. Shake Shack corporate and the City of Oxnard didn't anticipate the needs of this location. Next to a hotel, a drive thru Panda Express and there isn't nearly enough parking (and never will be). I've been 4 times at random times and the restaurant is PACKED! Not enough tables. Patio area is freezing. Only 3 ordering kiosks practically on top of the front counter which makes ordering either way difficult. Twice my burger has been sloppily assempled to where ingredients are falling out if the bun. My order mess up was small but I didn't discover it till I got to Ventura. Coke instead of Dr. Pepper. I HATE coke. So on my way home, I stopped in to ask them to fix it. While I was waiting (in the very big line) 3 different customers came up with complaints about messed up orders. Very disappointed to see Barq's root beer instead of Abita root beer. My disappointment is mounting as I continue to root for S.S. but y'all gotta get your act together QUICKLY!!! People are getting angry. I LOVE Shake Shack but this location is so far not much more than an overpriced In-N-Out with a...
Read moreI was spitting bristle out the whole time of an overpriced small burger. I tried all but strawberry shakes and they werenât good. I tasted my families shakes. Shakes were also overpriced. I didnât even finish my shake and thatâs the first for me, ever. Iâm a foody. I ate Del Taco type fast food quality crinkle fries. I was so sad at the price of the cheap French fries. I could have done the crinkle cut French fries from the frozen section at the store. Because those taste better and the price was way better. The French fries were also way overpriced. The cheesy fries were also overpriced and I could have been to In and Out and been happy. I paid the same amount I do at a sit down restaurant to eat at a fast food joint. I could have gone to Lure fish house extravagant restaurant to get a smash burger. But all I got here was a trash burger. Donât recommend this place to anyone. For the quality of the food the prices need to be adjusted to fast food prices. Or improve the quality of the food for the cost. The employees were great. It seems like they have to make up for a lot. Considering they are having to make up for restaurant prices for fast food. I also looked at the reviews of the other Shake Shacks in Cali. They are all like 3.4 to 4 stars. Where as places like In and Out are all above 4.5 stars. They are in a nearby parking center. So there is no hope for this place. You guys need to really get your act together. So so sad. I wish I could have put 0 stars. But google requires a minimum of 1 star. Obviously, I wonât be going there ever again. Should have...
Read moreI went during an âoffâ hour between lunch and dinner. Typically employees see this as switch off time so they arenât as attentive. That was NOT the case. The front of house employee Alyssa, opened the door for me and took my order. The food came out quick, hot, and tasty. Nothing felt like it was sitting under a heat lamp, the meat had a nice beefy taste, and the fries were crispy and fluffy. Maybe just a little more cheese sauce because the bacon/potato/cheese ratio felt off. Other than that I enjoyed my meal. I would recommend this to friends and others, though the truffle burger and truffle fries going away for the next seasonal items is sad. Hope they will come back. I appreciated the refill as well.
The second time i went was through the drive thru during night hours. I think people will have to get a little used to the slightly extra wait but i think most people are conditioned to prefer fresh vs food thatâs been standing under a heat lamp. The food was still hot and fries crispy after driving home. Burger was juicy and the first bite was just as good as the first time which speaks to consistency. Glad to know there arenât âbetter timesâ to go because at all hours the burgers are consistent.
Given the options in the area I would say shake shack is worthy of a spot in your weekly dining rotation and it will be...
