Flaming Grill & Buffet — Restaurant in Oxon Hill

If you're disabled, you're not welcome here. My friend and I are both totally blind. We went to pay to eat at the sushi buffet because I was on my lunch break. The individual stated that they would not assist us at the buffet and that they were too busy, which is against the law, the Americans with disabilities act. We politely explained that and he said that he would help us any other day but not today. I told him that was illegal and that we would be speaking with our lawyer. After I went live on Facebook, he came back 10 minutes later and tried to tell us that he never said that and that he would help us if we waited a few minutes. That wasn't what he said. The entire time he said he was not discriminating against us, and that is laughable because I don't know what you would call refusing to help two blind people get some food to eat. He had no problem getting ready to take my money. I'm glad we ask the question before we paid. It would've been disappointing if we had paid first and then try to get the money back. That would've been even more upsetting. We are forwarding the complaints to the state Attorney General's office and we are getting the National Federation Of The Blind involved. This is unacceptable and inexcusable. And what was hurtful is that he was treating us like we were stupid and trying to lie and then gaslighting us. He wasn't even apologetic in the slightest. So my 17yr old daughter wanted to go to a buffet style restaurant for her birthday. This place was the WORST buffet restaurant I’ve gone to in my 38yrs of life. While dining the waitress would come over to collect empty plates, cups etc which was nice; however she never asked if anything else was needed or anything. Tried calling her back over twice and she just ignored us. What makes me rate this place so low is that after spending well over $100 dollars we learned that we couldn’t get not even 1 drink refill. Also food that we started eating and wanted to save to take home wasn’t allowed to take out in our to go containers unless we paid an additional fee.🤔... so they want you to pay twice for food you’ve already paid for. This is not my first time in a buffet setting and I have never had to pay for my to go food that I’ve already started eating. One guy at the front desk got loud n angry when we were leaving because we had our ALREADY PAID FOR and EATEN OFF food with us heading out the door. He said really loud if u don’t pay again for taking food out your stealing. Huh??? I went back towards him and asked he why he was yelling... told him that firstly we weren’t aware of such a thing and secondly reminded him of how much money I spent in that place . He must’ve felt pretty stupid because his behavior caused other diners to look at him and shake their heads. He suddenly got quiet and walked away. I left... WILL NEVER SPEND MY MONEY HERE AGAIN. Horrible...

I give them 3 star because I enjoyed my time there BUT .. Before I arrived, I called to make sure it was all you can eat, until I read “Buffet”. A guy answered, & when I asked a few questions, instead of him saying anything & answering, he put me on hold & I was on hold for about 5-7 minutes. By that time I was already pulling up. I parked & walked into the Buffet & was directed to my seat. The place doesn’t smell bad AT ALL, looks nice and clean, until you sit at the table. There was still specks of food on the table from previous customers, which is very disgusting. The food choices, reminded me of Rio’s Buffet, the only thing that was different, were the crabs, when you crack the crabs, it’s a little more meaty & it doesn’t stick. I chose to go to the Hibachi line & I was very careful about what I put in my food but when I got it back it was extremely SPICY, I couldn’t bare eating the rest. I ended up just leaving & never LOOKED back literally. I want to give 2 stars but the environment, was something you wouldn’t have expected. They also was playing Black oldies but goodies music!
