On August 15 I went to this KFC at 6140-42 Oxon Hill Rd, Oxon Hill, MD. I decided to park and go inside to place an order. Once inside an employee approached the register as if to take my order but instead stated what sound like "drive through". When I ask him to repeat, he stated, "the lobby is open for mobile pickup, drive through" It did not bother me that the lobby was close to customer place food orders but I told the employee that management should post a sign to say the lobby is close or the lobby is only open to mobile pickup. He noted the sign is posted. I ask to speak with the manager and he stated he was the manager, the cook, and more. When I challenge to idea that a sign was posted that would indicate the lobby was closed to customers looking to place an order. He refused to entertain the idea and point to the mobile pickup reserved parking space sign. I stated the the reserve parking sign? He then laughed along with two of the other employees and walked away. When I tried to get his attention, he kept walking and ignored me. Frustrated, that I had wasted my time and I was not being heard. I decided to exit and not patron this KFC and not place an order in drive though obviously, I didn't want this group handling my food at this point. As I drove around past the drive through to exit one of the employees manning the drive through while serving a customer decided to go the extra mile and wave and give me verbal bye as a sarcastic gesture. I'm not against a lobby being closed, especially when staffing and other conditions dictate. I'm against, poorly trained managers that won't take the time to properly communicate with potential customers. The owner of this KFC should consider who is managing this location and the type of employees they are hiring. In addition, for a location that is closed to major foot traffic it was in poor condition from a cleanliness perspective which is probably a sign of thing to come. The creation is a simple sign to alert customers would have gone a long way. I ironic that as I left, a couple pulled up walk inside and noted the same condition I did. No doubt in my mind this is happening at the location over and over again. It doesn't have to be this way. I left this location and went to another KFC off route 5 and they had it right. The mobile pickup parking sign was being appropriately used to reserve a parking space for mobile pickup, both the drive through and lobby was open for all customers. I don't recommend the KFC location in. Oxon Hill, MD. If they can't address simple thing like signage it is no way they are properly handling the complexities of food prep and handling. This KFC is obviously poorly managed and operated with no true oversight as to how things are being run on a...
Read moreTerrible! I was there last Saturday and ordered two meals. When I got to the window and paid, I was then told that they had nothing to drink except Mountain Dew and strawberry lemonade. That seemed awfully strange, but I went ahead and got the lemonade. I was halfway down the road when I got a chance to taste the drink and it was nothing but pink water. I called, since it was too far in the other direction to turn back around and I didn't want to have to sit in the drive-thru line again, but it took almost an hour before someone picked up the phone. The manager said there were at least 3 other kinds of drinks available (even though that wasn't what the guys at the window said) and she told me that I could come back the following day and get two drinks in whatever was available. I went back the next day and informed the person at the window. He told me he'd never heard of my complaint and that his manager said there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak with the woman I'd spoken to just the day before and I was told that she was not in and they didn't know when she'd be back. I have NEVER seen or heard such incompetence and such a poorly run restaurant. We won't even discuss the fact that they had the rest of my order wrong. I asked for extra crispy chicken and got all original recipe. đĄ After I make my complaint to corporate and call the so-called manager again, KFC Rivertowne won't have to worry about getting another penny of...
Read more2nd Updated Review as of July of 2020: I stopped by here ia Drive-Thru during the COVID-19 Global Pandemic to try their new exclusive soft drink called Mountain Dew Sweet Lightning. I also wanted to see if the brought back real Hot Wings because the ones I had about a year ago were not the same great Hot Wings that I remember from when KFC first put them on their menu. I had to wait a bit for my wings on this visit.....and it was Totally Worth Itâ They were perfectly cooked, fresh and they had the perfect amount of spiciness without being too salty at all. And OMGâthe Sweet Lightning is just that: Sweet and very refreshing with a nice Peach flavor. I've never been a fan of regular mountain dew, but I'll definitely buy their Sweet Lightning again. My previous reviews are as follows: Updated Review: I needed to update this review after my most recent visit. I came Very Late and the two workers who helped me were Very Nice. I even got Jelly for my very delicious KFC Biscuits Without having to Ask! You know nowadays it is Very Rare to get Jelly from Other Places without having to almost beg for it. I also wanted to update this post so I could post the pic I took of their Holiday Hours For 2018* This is not a bad KFC, but you need to come long before closing time to get what you want from the menu since they stop making a lot of items in anticipation of closing time so they...
