My biggest complaint about this place is it's a crap shoot on whether you get a decent serving of meat or not.
They should use a different type of ladle so that the measurement of meat is accurate each time.
For $16 I shouldn't be able to count the amount of chicken I have on my plate. But I'm getting about 4 to 6 pieces a scoop.. so 12 1 inch pieces of chicken for $16 on top of some vegetables that cause practically nothing in comparison. I should have walked away this time I'm sure it's not supposed to be $16 because I was here a week ago and it was not. I think the lady charged me for double meat even though I only got 12 total pieces.
Now boycott this place for a while, then I forget how stingy they are with the meat and come back. I'll probably be dealt all right a few times, then I'll get some employees who stingy who thinks they're paying for the meat when they're working for minimum wage.
I understand this place needs to make a profit, but this is getting beyond ridiculous.
Y'all need to change the ladle, for the meat so at least it's an accurate measurement and if it's tiny then I just won't come back anymore. For $16 there's a lot better options.
I work my tail off, I need to eat. I can't afford to buy three plates just to get the meat that I paid for.
To whoever serving me, eventually karma is going to get you. You can't keep intentionally screwing people over like this and not come...
Read moreThe manager “Steven” is a top notch manager. Steven is an “ole school” young man. A man that puts customer service above all else. I walked in 30 minutes prior to closing. When I ordered the black forbidden rice. The server politely notified me that they were out of it. Seeing my disappointment she notified the manager “Steven”. Steven greeted me, apologized, and said “I’ll have some made for you promptly”. He let me know approximately how long it would take, and before I knew it I had a couple of the best bowls I’ve ever had from Bolay. As I waited Steven approached me and offered a $5.00 discount card for the inconvenience. I told him it was not necessary and that I was very appreciative that he was making a fresh batch of rice 30 minutes prior to closing. Of course he insisted and apologized for the 3rd time. I must say prior to this experience I was becoming less & less impressed with this particular location. I now visit on a regular basis as Steven has restored my confidence in the service, & quality & freshness of the food. Its such a pleasure to walk in and be greeted with his big, bright, “authentic” smile. Stevens great attitude and customer service shows in everyone of his employees. Steven is a special young man. We need more like him in the...
Read moreToday is unfortunately the last time I will get Bolay until corporate decides to reverse poor decisions they have made. I have very frequently gotten Bolay across the state of Florida since they opened one of the first locations in 2016 on Northlake Blvd. I actually feel bad writing this review because I have had good experiences/food at Alton Bolay, but I am hoping this along with calls to corporate will catch their attention. They have decided to stop selling their citrus chicken breast. If you didn't know, their other chickens have dark meat. I dont eat dark meat nor does anyone in my family. Taking the white meat chicken option off the menu was the first big hit. Tonight I went back because they have an almond crusted chicken tender in its place. It was dry and bland. They also removed the pesto noodles and brussel sprouts from the menu! They're getting rid of practically everything I eat there. Again, I know that is a corporate issue. But to make matters worse, the black rice I got tonight had a terrible taste (I've had it before and it was fine) and the broccoli was bitter and undercooked. It just isn't worth coming here and spending my money anymore. I hope corporate changes things for the better and I can come back...
