Been a regular at Alton Starbucks since they opened. During recent visits in picking up my hot coffe e ordered I either spilled the coffee right on the floor since the cup was so hot and no sleeves were affix as before or spilled the coffee while sitting to drink and the hot cup was too hard to handle . I finally asked the friendly coffee maker for a sleeve and she pulled one from under the counter and when I asked why don’t they serve them with the attached or have the sleeve easily accessible she told me the new Starbucks policy was not to serve with sleeves and provide only when customer asks for one . After a spill today by my friend sitting next to me I asked to see the manager who came to our table and confirmed the policy and asked if we needed burnt cream if we needed one . That was her response for getting burnt by the hot cup ..you need to ask for burnt cream to sooth the wound . Last week we spilled to cups right on the floor and slipped on the slippery surface and were offered a replacement order. I suggested to the manager to place the new policy at the pickup locations so customers are aware but she ignored my suggestions and said they always carry burn creams for people who are injured if needed …. I knew she was program by the corporate policy and let it go at that …no use to try making sense with a sheep following the...
Read moreThis is the WORST Starbucks (Alton) that I have ever experienced. Not ONE...Not TWO...Not even THREE, but FOUR times they remade my Grande Caramel Frappuccino With Almond Milk, triple espresso, and extra drizzle. First, I went through the drive thru, but the drink was missing the espresso. When I asked for a remake, the Barista took time from making other drinks to come to the drive thru window to let me know that she did put espresso in there. I advised her that something was off. After a few minutes more, I was provided with a venti drink, looked to be another Frapp, but without extra drizzle. I took the drink anyway so as not to hold up the line any longer. I parked and went inside this time. Approaching the register, I noticed the gentleman's name tag stated "SUPERVISOR". I was relieved thinking that it's going to be right this time. I advised him of the 1 prev mistakes, and he assured "I will make it right"......but he didn't 😭, he handed me a tall, so I ask for that to be corrected. He went behind the counter and poured the contents from the TALL CUP into a GRANDE CUP and topped it off with whipped cream. I took it, and he said NOTHING as I thanked him and apologized for.....I don't even know why I apologized. From there, I went to 2 additional stores before it was made...
Read moreGreat coffee, and I’ve never had a problem with my drink quality. But it seems that some employees need to be trained asap. Every moring it is always the same 4-5 people who are making drinks, and the people taking orders in drive through and inside always seem to be asking them questions and for their help with taking order. It seems like most employees are poorly trained and rely on a small number of good ones. The amount of times I have seen one of the people making drinks have to step in to help someone in the store taking orders or talk to a customer over drive through because the person taking orders is confused is honestly a bit ridiculous. It seems unfair that some baristas are doing three things because their coworkers can’t do one. hopefully the employees who are always lost can get help/retrained soon. Again, coffee is always good and quick but it is frustrating to have someone take you order who is lost and have to have someone else who is clearly stressed step in. But hey, shoutout to the baristas Lupe, Daniel, Krissy, Nick and a few others whose names I can’t recall for always making perfect drinks and helping their...
