Yummmmm yum yum. Palm Greens Cafe offers consistently tasty, fruit and vegetable-laden, interesting dishes. PGC is not exclusively vegetarian or vegan, but there are plenty of vegan options to choose from. Brunch is a highlight, with ample savory and sweet entree options and affordable sides of the good stuff (hello, single piece of french toast with fruit!) so you don't miss out on all of the things you want. The service is consistently attentive here, even while things fall apart at other restaurants during this time.
It does seem like they're using diners' apparent waste of tap water as an excuse to exclusively sell boxed water, which is barely coherent on its own, but especially so when considering how much water and other inputs are wasted to produce and transport cartons of boxed water and some of the items on their menu (hello, grass-fed beef burger?!!? All environmentally responsible credibility lost!). Just serving tap water in small glasses to people who request it would be a lot more effective in combating this imaginary, or at best, very small source of waste. Or dump that half-full tap water glass on a cactus in the parking lot. It pains me to think of how many patrons will order a beef burger or steak and then skip off to play golf - on green grass in the desert - after dining here and somehow pat themselves on the back for drinking water from a box. Bring back tap water and GET RID OF THE BEEF BURGER AND STEAKS...
Read moreMy friend is visiting from San Francisco and he wanted to eat at a vegetarian restaurant and I remember that this was a place I had eaten several years ago it was vegetarian and now it's extremely vegan as well. The menu didn't interest me much and the prices were extremely high and I was very surprised at how small the portion was. My friend found something that he liked and mine was let's say interesting some of it I enjoyed but most of it I didn't eat. I enjoy eating a lot of vegetables and a lot of different vegetarian fried type food but I couldn't find anything that really got me excited but I think that if you go there as a vegan that you will be quite amazed at the huge selection that they have now for both vegan and vegetarian. I am not either and actually could have just done with the very very nice salad with mixed vegetables and that type of thing but I didn't see anything on the menu. There may have been one but the menu was extremely large and in terms of the number of items and I may have missed it so I'm not going to say that there wasn't something else that I would have enjoyed more. There seems to be a number of new vegan restaurants popping up in Palm Springs and I'm sure that this is well as some of the others you're probably an...
Read moreVery disappointing meal. To begin with, the waiter was rude. My son requested fried egg whites and the waiter in a very condescending tone informed us that it is impossible to fry an egg white. He went on to say that it is automatically scrambled when it’s removed from the shell. I insisted that it was indeed possible as we often do this at home. The waiter then very sarcastically said”perhaps you will be so kind as to share your recipe”. You would think that a restaurant that offers vegan and gluten free items would have a wait staff that is more open to options or at least not be an ass about special requests. Needless to say, the eggs still came out scrambled. Some of the food was actually good (vegan biscuits and gravy) but for the most part, it was awful. The whole wheat pancakes were dry and the sausage was inedible! All of this at high prices! Finally, when I paid with my credit card, the waiter hovered over me and made me very uncomfortable. There are plenty of excellent restaurants specializing in organic and vegan food, unfortunately this isn’t...
