The people are nice enough. And I don't mind spending an extra $.50 for paying with a credit card if the total is under $6. But this location is consistently frugal when it comes to toppings in blizzards.
Twice in the past month I've ordered blizzards that appear to be chock-full of goodies on posters only to receive a cup of spun vanilla ice cream with specks of whatever was supposed to be in it. Inside the 12 oz. cup of salted caramel truffle blizzard today was only two toffee clusters and remnants of mini truffles and brownie pieces (which I also didn't mind being charged extra for). I even asked the guy behind the counter if everything that comes with it was inside because it just looked like white ice cream with brown specks. None of the listed ingredients could be seen from the top, not even slightly. Now I'm not a fat, greedy whiner when it comes to something so trivial, but for $6 I think it's fair to expect a little more than an ice cream that falls far below mcflurry-quality. I don't think someone should have to dig to find a piece of caramel if 'caramel' is listed in the title.
I called the location to voice my concern and the man who served me (who I'm guessing owns and/or manages it) told me to come back so he could show me the measurements of what he puts in it. Maybe I'm more disappointed because this scavenger hunt turned out to be a waste of a cheat meal, but after two separate occasions yielding the same results, I don't think I'll be back to this one.
P.S. the location in Southland Mall...
Read moreBeen ages. Ice cream is decent. Bit too sweet but that's just me getting old I guess. The real issue is that the place feels really old. Not old and quaint just old and out of touch. DQ feels like a company 5-10 years away from bankruptcy cause they don't seem to be interested in evolving. Only one cash register for the whole place? Only one employee? At one point there were about 15 people there. And why can't people order using a touchscreen if they want to? Would increase sales and speed things up. Anyway, it's fine but could use some updating. And sadly I left there actually feeling sorry for the place and sorry for the employee. Who wants to leave a place with pity in their hearts cause management has lost the plot? Ridiculous. But hey, I enjoyed my ice cream. Just can't imagine going back...

Slow service! Not enough employees on their busiest night, Sat. The lady taking our order looking like she hates her job, arms crossed, looking at us like she hates being there…
Blizzards were totally lacking proper standards! My mint oreo was good for the first 4 bites, then it got down to just ice cream, no mint flavor, no cookie chunks..
Worst part is, what looks like a manager or someone of official status, just barrel roll through the counter area and write out the front door without even looking at the customers or lending a hand or helping out at all while there was a billowing out towards the exit
Sorry, but I’ll be spending the extra time to go north to cold stone for the next time I wanna take my family out...
