This place was simplistically amazing! Prices were more than you would pay at a popular "fast food" chain, by around $5-$10, but this isn't fast food. This is "country" food!
I got the small ribs, and the bbq sauce didn't overpower the smoke flavor, as it sometimes does with other bbq restaurants. In fact, the ribs weren't smothered in the sauce as it is other places either. I also ordered the "mac n cheese" & baked beans sides. Both were homemade and amazing! I've never cared for homemade mac n cheese, because all I've ever tried has been super bland, with almost no cheese flavor. But this side dish got the cheese flavor right, better than any I've ever tried. The baked beans were awesome! I think they had jalapeño peppers in them, and I dislike jalapeños because I just don't like "hot". But, these beans were slightly spicy, nothing more. It wasn't a "burn" that lasted, it was only a kick that contributed to the overall flavor. I really think these were prepared in a slow cooker/crockpot for many many hours. That's how they tasted anyway. The cornbread was prepared with jalapeños, but also lacked the typical "burn". This was the only thing that I think may not have been homemade. (Tasted like "jiffy" with jalapeño pieces lol)
Overall, this place was absolutely amazing!!! Definitely will be going back on our...
Read moreMy family and I were looking to grab something to eat during a horrible lightning storm and we found this place on Google. I think people may have over rated this place because they were expecting something of lower quality from some place that looks to be no bigger than a crack in the wall outside, hell the people at the outside bar were getting rained on. But any way back to our experience, we heard it was the amongst the top 10 in the country for BBQ so we took a chance and went to the small eatery. There's a large wall where the menu is displayed and when you're ready you tell the adorable cashier what you'd like, and when it's ready she calls your name and you retrieve the food. Pretty simple and easy going. Now the food... They were out of ribs (which is why we went) so I assume they were popular, I and one other person had the pulled pork platter with mac n cheese and baked beans, both of our pulled pork was cold for 8pm. The others informed me the catfish was good, but the 1/2 chicken was under seasoned. Our macaroni barely had any cheese on it, the cornbread was a little dry, but the baked beans were very good. In all, due to the rating I expected damn good food, it was okay, but by no means great, maybe we just caught them...
Read moreI came with a party of three and we ordered the double load with an additional meat to-go...the pulled pork and chicken. To me and my friend, we thought the meats were tender and seasoned well. We also got the Mac & cheese and baked beans with corn bread and buns. To be honest, I loved everything. It was really good to me, but one of the people in my party didn't like it as much. Partially because they only sell one BBQ sauce (the Moe's original) which is a tad bit spicy...but we also found this white sauce that reminded me of salad dressing (definitely had hints if vinegar and mayo) that cooled down the other sauce. The people weren't friendly but they weren't rude...just there. I would go again and recommend even though I'm not sure my entire party would. It was about $46 for the meal that feeds 5-6 people with an extra meat and 3 drinks ( although it seemed more like 2-3 people). Lastly, we went on a Thursday at 9pm, an hour...
