Shrimp Basket — Restaurant in Panama City Beach

From the male hostess seating us, it was unbelievable. Puts 2 menus down on the table and walks away without saying a word. It took over 10 minutes to get anyone to walk up and acknowledge that we had NOT had a waitress take our order. A male got our drink order. I told him we were ready to order. He said I'm just getting drinks." Another 7 minutes passed, and we heard I'm sorry at least 4 times. Waitress Tina or Tim (sounded like Tim, not sure) female came and got our order. We sat and sat for 25 minutes. A drip of water hit me on top of the head from the A/C. Oh well, I said nothing. When our food came out, it was cold! Eating fried oysters cold is nasty. My husbands fish was cold as well. Fish taste ok cold but not oysters. Unbelievable! It's been a long time since I've had terrible food like this. I ate the fried okra. It's ok cold. Tina came back and asked what was wrong. I told her the food was cold and I couldn't eat fried oysters cold. She apologized and took it back. She immediately came out saying she took someone else's food and it was good and hot. How????? What had we been waiting for for so long for the first food???? It wasn't cooking, that's for sure. Another drop of water hits my head. I will NEVER darken the door of The Shrimp Basket in Panama City ever again. The older Shoneys waitress was bringing out cups of ice with her fingers all in the cups where you drink from. She wasn't even my waitress. I saw nothing but un accountable people working in this place. How gross. We spent 1 hour and 15 minutes of vacation time for this kind of treatment that I will never get back and still...

October 16, 2024 I stopped by fairly late on the 16th to order food. I walked in and I did not know where exactly where to go (ordering a to-go order) but I was directed to Tina. Tina was very kind and helped me order (never been to the Shrimp Basket) and was helpful and kind as I stumbled along. I ordered and waited for my food and it arrived quickly! I was a bit taken back as to how fast the food arrived. My first experience with the Shrimp Basket was a very good one and thanks goes to Tina! Thank you Tina!!!

I ordered the oyster basket and it was good. I also ordered two stuffed crabs and they were very good! The tarter sauce, shrimp sauce, and Cole slaw were good! There were plenty of oysters and fries with the meal! I gave the food 4 out 5 stars as it was good food, nothing wrong with it but it was not the best I had ever had. The oysters were good but they were not my favorite that I have had. I gave the service a 5 out of 5 as Tina the waitress was great! I hope the other staff are just as good! After reading the "great" reviews, we gave this a go. We were greeted by Tina and we placed an order for drinks and an appetizer. Tina was super friendly and had a great personality. The appetizer was not put into the order system, and we never received it. No biggie. We ordered 2 burgers, fried oyster baskets, and a popcorn shrimp basket. We were told the batter is made in house, which we were excited to try. Upon receiving the food. The fried oyster tasted horrible. Like an old dish sponge. It's just a very unpleasant taste. My husband ate one, and his made his stomach feel queasy. The popcorn shrimp itself was good quality, but the breading on it tasted like watery flour. No spice and tasty flavor. Just watery blah. Fries were mediocre and room temp. The coleslaw was good. Hushpuppies and corn bites were average tasting. The burgers were good. The waitress comped my husband's meal and gave us 2 pieces of chocolate pie as an apology. Much appreciated for making it right.
