I reserved a room for 3 nights Tuesday thru Thursday. We called on Tuesday at about 1:30 pm. as we were driving from Texas and told em we would be there to check in, but it will be 8:30-9pm. They said no problem. After a 13 hour drive, we arrive about 8:30 pm. We go to check in, and even though I paid in advance thru Expedia and my receipt showed all taxes and fees were included. They hit you with another $150 deposit. So they get us checked in, We grab our suitcase, pillows, drinks, etc... we are loaded down. We get in the elevator, which is sketchy, by the way, and we open the door to our room, and it was still a mess from last people staying in the room. I mean, beds were not made , towels everywhere like they didn't even touch it! So we head back down and tell the lady, and she says they can't do anything about the room house keeping wont be in till morning. But they will put us up in a room at the hotel right next door. I'm pissed but tired, so I say fine. We grab all our stuff , it is now almost 9:30pm my wife and I are just worn out. This place is called Twin Towers. The elevator is even more sketchy, and the inspection report in the elevator was expired by a year ! We made it to the 5th floor ( thank god ) went to open the room door, and the key card she gave us dont work!!!!!! I called em up, and they sent a guy to open the door. Now these pics are of the room they put us in , it was disgusting and dirty! At this point its after 10 p.m., we had no choice. We were stuck in this room. The next morning, I went and talked to the manager, Elizabeth. She was nice and told us the cleaning staff dont speak English and dont understand English, so there is a communication gap.... mommy sounds like Holman/ ICE needs to make a visit. That will be my next call. She says she can't refund our money because we booked thru Expedia. I never asked for a refund. I just wanted a nice clean room with an ocean view . that's what we paid for. She said that for us to wait, they are getting our room cleaned, and when its done, we can go up. It's now 11:30 am the manager does not come in till 10 am. Our whole morning wasted! We finally got into our room and the room at this hotel, the one we paid for was nice and clean. So we stayed Wendsday- Thursday night and was having a blast. My wife and I love PCB. We decided to stay another night on Friday. So I went to the front desk and asked if we could rent the same room for Friday night and for our troubles could we have the room for the rate we paid. Because they jack the prices up over the weekend. They said yes to the same room for Friday night. However, they could let me have it for a discount. At this point, considering all we have been thru and our wasted time. I really expected them to comp us the night. This is what I was thinking but said ok no problem, we will take it. However, they dont clean the rooms every day they told us it was every 3rd day. So Thursday our room should have been cleaned and it was NOT!!!! No new towels, bathroom tissue!!!! Again, I get told the breakdown of communication. So I tell them when we book the room again for Friday. THE ROOM NEEDS TO BE CLEANED FRIDAY !!!!!! We get up early and leave for the day festivities and when we returned that evening , we returned to again ! Not cleaned , no towels , no tissue paper !!!!!! I am beyound pissed at this point! They litterly did not clean our room!!!! There is a black lady that works the counter in the evenings she said she was the night manager. Very rude lady , when I asked where it says it will cost extra for deposit and wanted to be shown thats it just showed where and I was nice about it considering we just came in off a 13 hour drive. She did the whole head in a round motion, saying I got attitude with her. When I explained I was entitled to know what im paying for, she cut me off and said I am trying to accommodate you. that's when we ended up in this nasty room!!!! We will not be staying at this hotel again or recommending it unless they reach out and make it right.

Given the price and view, you can't beat the location. Rooms are semi-private because the bathrooms separate the beds. The kitchenette is on the balcony side of the room. It is older, but it is more of a family establishment as you can sleep up to five people comfortably. This same feature seems to lure in groups of young adults who lack basic politeness. It may be a non-smoking hotel, but our tub had clear burn marks and those who do smoke just do it on the balcony. Televisions are the old box-style, and my husband was wishing he had brought a retro video game to hook up and play, so there's and idea for the afternoon storms or late nights if you have the ability. (In the lobby, we heard some rooms have newer flat screens and they are slowly replacing them all.) Beds are old as well. There were 3 different types of boxed springs and three different mattresses of differing ages and stages of wear. I know because I always tear the room apart looking for bed bugs - room 702 is in the clear. Mattresses are in zipped covers with a pee-pad and then the sheets tucked in. The pillows are old and thin, so we actually went to the store and bought pillows. There are two air units in the room, and that's great for keeping the room comfortable. The balcony chairs sit right by the exhaust of one of the units, so we had to turn the unit off to make sitting outside feasible. However, that same exhaust was great for drying swimsuits and towels. The kitchenette is nice enough, and I have included a picture of what is in it. You'll need coffee filters to use the coffee machine. There were canned food items left from the previous guest. There was a small thing of dish soap, but we bought some Dawn to make it through the stay. Bathroom seemed large, but it only had a shower/tub and toilet in it. The sink is in the hall between the two "rooms". Soap is provided, but the shampoo and conditioner is in the lobby with a tag that makes it look like you have to purchase it. Look at the pictures - the older tub has been patched with epoxy in several places. The mirror has messed up around the edges. The door has been repaired with drywall. There is no ice machine. You get one small bag per room per day, with the option to purchase larger $2 bags. You have to go to the lobby to pick it up, and there is no way to ensure the cleanliness of the ice because you don't know who packed it or if hands were clean. The beach is beautiful, but be careful walking in the sand. There was trash all over the place, including glass bottles and crushed aluminum cans slightly buried. It actually looked like some things were intentionally placed just under the sand as if to cut feet. There were fireworks (and the trash that comes with that) on the beach every night. We think we might stay here again, but we can't give it 5 stars because it needs updates and their attitude toward guests is not the most customer friendly. Rather than focus on the guest experience, they assume everyone is going to trash the place, check out late, and be a jerk.

I am rating 5 stars so my post doesn’t get taken down. I want to start by saying THEY HAVE ROACHES. AN INFESTATION OF ROACHES.

If that’s not enough, let me tell you about our experience. It will be a long one. To begin, the check in was sketchy. The boys at the front desk didn’t know what they were talking about. First they said it was $250 deposit, $50 for each pet (we had 2), and an additional $100 for pet deposit? Doesn’t make sense but ok. Then they said we could pay $200 in cash for deposit and $150 for the pets. So we did.

We drove 11 hours here, unloaded our things, got into bed, and roaches started crawling out from under every piece of furniture. I went to the front desk. I explained to her our room had roaches and we gave $200 in cash for deposit and I requested that back. She initially told me she didn’t have a room but I insisted on switching because “I don’t do bugs”, and I refuse to carry roaches back to Tennessee with me. I was extremely polite to the lady despite the rage that was building inside of me.

I went up to the room, killed a couple more roaches, and read some reviews online. We stayed here last year with no problem so I didn’t read reviews prior to booking. BIG MISTAKE. People were also saying they never got their deposit back so I went back downstairs to tell her I wasn’t staying in that room and needed my money back or we were leaving. It’s 11pm at this point.

She was on the phone back and forth with the manager. She clearly knew they had a roach problem. After 30 mins of back and forth, they ended up switching us rooms and gave me my $200 in cash back stating it was a “mistake”. I checked for roaches and didn’t see any in the new room but there was trash in the fridge, behind the couches(Makes sense why they have roaches if the rooms aren’t cleaned after every stay), the sheets were stained with black fingerprints, and the AC was BROKEN. BLOWING HOT AIR. We found out later that multiple AC units in the building were also out. They were kind enough to give us a fan and offered to move us rooms again but I refused.

Last thing, and honestly most concerning, is the elevator license that expired 3 YEARS AGO… and you can tell!!! I thank god we were on the 3rd floor because we did not take the elevator. The doors slammed, there was no AC or air flow in them at all, and someone told us that one dropped a few feet while they were on it, and the next person got stuck..

The manager called me the following day and offered us breakfast and lunch vouchers and asked me for a good review. One thing I’m not going to do is LIE and I refuse to post something positive when our experience was so terrible. I was baffled. I wish I could get my entire stay refunded. And yes, I am still waiting for my $150 “resort fee” to be refunded. Someone told me it was for the pets, someone else told me it was a resort fee. No one knows what they’re talking about and no one knows how to run this place!! I will say it has gone EXTREMELY downhill since we stayed last year.

Oh and another thing; I went to get a new room card since mine stopped working and the lady said she was going to report me for smoking marijuana. EXCUSE ME?! I have 2 children with my family on vacation. I don’t smoke weed and I never have!!! The disrespect after having such a terrible experience and then to threaten a report really put the icing on the cake. It’s a H**L NO from me.

I will NEVER go back and honestly hope they get new management that is willing to pay for PEST CONTROL AND EXTERMINATION, maybe fix the broken things in the rooms, get a mold inspector, and I pray to God the state board will review my complaint about the elevator so no one gets hurt.

I also have quite the following on social media and can have the rating tanked in no time. I am putting this review here to not only warn others, but hopefully expedite my refund as well. If my words aren’t enough, I can definitely resort to video reviews.

Last thing I will say is if you can get your money back, save yourself the time, stress, and roach infestation,...

Our stay was horrible! First, I know we weren’t getting a resort stay or a high class hotel as this was our second year staying here. Last year it was wonderful the staff was great everything was clean and accommodating. This year was a total 360! We went to check in at 4 and they only had one room available out of the two I booked, ok fine, we went to the room to sit and wait for the second room and the key didn’t work in the door, closer look and someone was in that room already… so went to the desk they gave another room get there and the couch seat was so gross I wouldn’t sit on it let alone sleep on it, luckily my parents were staying in that room so they didn’t use the couch.. the back door had toilet paper shoved in the holes that were in the door to the balcony, the door was also so hard to open and close. Finally we got our second room, go in and the air didn’t work… called front desk (they were sooooo rude, like how dare we bother them) they made us wait for maintenance (took an hour) he came in said yep doesn’t work and left… I waited 30 mins and called the front desk said he told them it worked (it didn’t and he told us it didn’t) they ended up giving us another room after being absolutely rude about it. Get to our room and the tv doesn’t work, they said they would send someone to fix it (they never came and we were there from Sunday to Saturday) We drove 13 hours and were all ready for showers and bed at this point, guess what BOTH rooms had no hot water! Zero! We took cold showers (me, my husband, 16, 13, and 5 year old also my parents room 😒) told them about that issue they said to wait… uh no.. my parents got locked out of their room like 15 times come to Find out the door battery died, took staff 3 days to fix and figure that one out. The pool was disgusting and my husband found a condom in it! The toilet got clogged and was puking into our room they told us maintenance would be there and that took another hour. We had to get trash bags and towels constantly because they don’t do daily room cleaning here (even though you pay the fees for it) we asked for a broom 4 different times with no avail… the floors were so gross my little ones feet were black! Thennnn when we leave we hit Alabama and I get a call from the hotel with a lady SCREAMING at me about how nasty we left our room and that the staff doesn’t get paid enough to clean up after us, ummm 🤔. They sent us pictures of the room as well. Yea there was a bag of trash and a trash can full of trash BUT WE bagged it and took trash every day to the dumpster ourselves! There was a pile Of towels THAT WE PILED IN ONE SPOT! There was some cookie crumbs on the ground and table (I have a toddler remember) all it would take is a broom (THAT WE REPEATEDLY ASKED FOR) There was also sand on the cushions we took off the couch/bed thing we stacked them on the wall so the sand wouldn’t get all Over the bed and make it harder to clean. They act like there isn’t a beach Outside? The lady who called me yelled and screamed at me said I was disgusting and lazy and how dare I expect someone to clean up my messes… she also told me staff doesn’t get paid enough to clean my room after we left.. we were there for almost a week, and did what we could with what we were given! We did more cleaning than they did with customer service!!! I also use a cane to get around! The elevators are horrible my 16 year old got stuck twice in them and one feels like you’re about to drop! I will never spend another dime there! I’ve never been treated so horribly by staff on a vacation and then harassed after, they said I won’t be getting my deposit back and they will be charging my card for an extra...
