Had 7:15pm reservations for my dad's 70th birthday (party of 14). We checked in at 7pm checked to see why we havent been seated at 7:45pm and they said they forgot. Didnt get to our table until 8:15pm and the waiter did an introduction and confidently said "so we have a party of 8 tonight," which I corrected and said no we have a party of 14 with a reservation of 7:15pm and it is now 8:15pm. No apology just rushing through everything. Horrible service! The food that was brought out was cold and we stopped with the pastas and asked for trays to start packing. They were just piling food on our table it seemed like we were either in caveman or midieval times. They weren't taking unused and dirty plates or utensils off the table until I asked for trays to go which they took 30-45mins to come back with. We were only served cold Appetizers, cold salad, cold pasta which we had to salt and pepper everything because it was so bland, worse than any boxed meal I've ever had in my entire life. My Dad's exact words for his 70th bday experience were "you guys didn't tell me that we were collectively coming out as a family to pick up take out and go home to recook!" A waiter sang happy bday really loud to a 21 year old, but neglected to acknowledge our father's 70th bday which is a milestone being that he's been battling cancer for the past couple of years. The calamari was tough and the breading was sliding off, chicken parmigiana was soggy and greasy not crispy at all, the chocolate cake and cheesecake that was served was obviously boxed dessert because it was extremely cold and worse than buying any premade dessert from any grocery's Bakery department. To top the whole experience off our bill was $800 for a 5 course meal that seemed more like a prison cafeteria scrap dump on the table that we packed to go and we were so overwhelmed and disgusted that we decided to give $800 worth of bday food to the homeless. We arrived at 7pm and left at 10pm with empty stomachs and piles of food trays that the waiter asked for us not to say anything because those are used for take out only. So your establishment just wants us to waste our money right? THANK YOU Buca di Beppo for the worst milestone bday celebration and the worst dining family experience! If there was an option to give a thumbs down there would definitely be a million of them with my review. This establishment and all present staff members which would include, but are not limited to: cooks, waiters, bar tenders, Manager, General Manager, Hostess and anyone else that takes part, but was missed needs a revamp on customer service, food, delegation and execution. Buca di Beppo should really be featured on Restaurant Impossible because it is...
Read moreMy fiancée and I came here on a Friday night for a nice evening out. We approached the host stand and informed the gentleman working of our reservation. He was very friendly and was going to seat us in a quiet section of the restaurant, as he seemed to understand that we were a couple looking for a romantic evening of bread, pasta, and conversation. The restaurant did not seem overly busy, and there were plenty of areas where we could be seated with a reasonable degree of privacy. Just as the host was getting ready to seat us, another hostess interrupted and told him not to seat us there, but in a different section.
We were taken to our new seats and, to our disappointment, found ourselves in the midst of no less than three large groups - a large family with several young children, a group of businessmen, and a group of people celebrating a friend’s graduation from nursing school. The din was deafening; I could not comprehend my own thoughts, let alone grasp a word of what my fiancée was saying for the duration of our meal.
My first thought was to request to be re-seated, but I quickly concluded that such a demand would be futile, as the female hostess was adamant that we be seated in this exact spot. However, we were starving, and decided to endure these ear-splitting conditions, in the hopes that some garlic bread and manicotti would be at least a mild opiate to the ever-increasing cacophony.
We were mistaken. Through the course of our dinner, the volume at the surrounding tables only increased as the various patrons consumed more alcohol. My fiancée and I were left to simply stare at each other, as any attempt at conversation would bear less fruit than a pineapple tree in the desert.
At one point, a manager arrived at our table. We hoped perhaps she would offer to re-seat us, but she merely refilled our soft drinks without so much as a word of sympathy.
The part of the meal we looked forward to the most, the Italian cream cake, we ordered to go as we could no longer endure the migraine-inducing roar. Our waiter, who was giving a yeoman’s effort to cover this entire section on his own, seemed to understand our frustration when we ordered dessert. For his part, he was excellent.
As we were leaving the restaurant, we observed many other couples seated in relative seclusion, all apparently enjoying the experience we were denied. We were not wished a pleasant evening as we walked out the door, as the aforementioned hostess was engaged in a personal conversation with a co-worker that was clearly of much greater importance.
We have dined at this location in the past and greatly enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service. Unfortunately, we will not be returning...
Read moreMe and my mom went back in March of this year and the baked Ziti was fantastic and the bread was warm. This past Saturday we went again around 3pm and not only was the hostess rude about where we sat, as we sat near the bar last time and enjoyed it and simply requested it however we were told that there wasn't enough servers. We were taken to the main dining area where it was very crowded and noisy. The booth was very uncomfortable it felt hard like we were sitting on plywood. But we thought whatever were just here for the food. Waiter came over and seemed irritated. Wasn't friendly at all and seemed to get upset when you asked a question. We ordered our drinks and waited at least 30 minutes for bread that was cold and a bit hard, mind you we had to ask for it as just the oil and vinegar was put out. My mom ordered a virgin margarita and had it remade twice before just asking for it to be removed off of the bill because it was just not drinkable it looked a bit odd but we get it they only had the lime margarita mix nothing else. We got the chicken parm. And baked Ziti again since we loved it so much last time. The food came out about 5 minutes after we got our bread. The chicken was TERRIBLE! It felt undercooked when chewing it and the taste was bland. The baked ziti was so dry that we were using some sauce from the chicken parm and it still wasn't helping. The cheese balls were so small like half the size of the last time we were here. Not to mention our waiter rarely checked on us and we had to get the other guy who was maybe a server or bus person, to help us he was very kind and apologetic but it seemed everytime he'd go and get our waiter our waiter seemed so annoyed. We felt uncomfortable and underwhelmed and unfortunately dont see ourselves coming back. No one likes inconsistent...
