Itโs a shame. I would of gave this restaurant Crush, in our hotel at MGM Grand, 4 stars instead of 3 if it wasnโt for...well....Iโll explain....
We dined Wednesday evening, July 24, around 6pm. The ambience of the room was romantic and well decorated. We loved our comfortable booth.
Our waitress, forget her name...blonde woman, late 40โs, black dress, was great. Friendly. Accommodating. Took our picture. We liked her. The water and drink refill young girl was very nice too, as was the African American gentlemen who brought out the entrees with flair and personality.
The salads, arugula for my lady, and Caesar for me were phenomenal. Our entrees, we both went with chicken parm with a shared side of fettuccine were very good as well.
So where does that 4th star get lost at, and only a 3 star rating?
Iโm not sure if he was the GM or the Manager or what, but the the white guy in the Blazer, clean cut hair, blondish brownish was arrogant, and to be honest, a tool douche.
We were taken to our booth when we first arrived, and had to walk right past him in doing so. Not so much a greeting. A hello. A hello, how are you folks doing tonight. Complete nose up in the air. I look out for things like this being in a management position myself.
This made me watch him here and there during our dinner. He did not walk up to any tables. Ask how everybodyโs meal was. Walked by our table directly, two different times...not a peep.
After our nice meal, in a nice atmosphere, with nice people working there besides him, we paid, and got up to leave. Look who we walk right past, walking in the opposite direction of us when we are leaving, but Captain Arrogance himself. Did we get eye contact, and a thanks for dining with us folks, or anything like that? Nothing. He stormed directly past us. I didnโt look back and just shook my head....my wife did look back and stated to me he must have been mad about something because she saw him nonchalantly lightly punch the wall.
The dude needs to understand itโs not all about him. Get off...
ย ย ย Read moreThe Atmosphere was great! Even during a pandemic they were able to pull off serving a 6 top. Now for the review of the experience. Five females and one male sit down to eat a meal together and throughout history and all over the world as a waitress you would get the order for the ladies and then the man. So first odd experience was the waitress taking my order first. Yeah, not how that has ever been done.
Second part of the experience was the Cesar Salad. So as a Graduate of the Culinary Arts School of the South- this is such a easy salad to make table side especially when you are charging $14 for the salad.
Third issue was on the Sausage Wood-fired Pizza. The taste was awesome the sausage was on point but there were 3 butt ends of the peppers with the hard stem piece still on them on this pizza. These are not edible and should never even have made it from the prep table to the active ingredient bins at the pizza station in the kitchen.
Lastly was the service, it was great if we were not in the middle of a pandemic. We had 5 people interacting with our group at the table. The hostess, waitress, water server/table bus, bartender, and the food server; oh I almost forgot there was a 6th person the floor manager who took our payments at the end of the meal. With everything going on in the world had anyone of our group or any of those serving us been around anyone that is sick or is a carrier of this dreaded COVID-19 then we now all have exposed repeatedly during one meal and exposed the others.
Would I go back No. would I recommend it to others, maybe all depends if it fits what that person is looking for at...
ย ย ย Read moreMy recent visit to Crush Restaurant left me with a mixed bag of impressions. My dining companion and I both opted for the Angus Burger, a classic choice that promised a flavorful experience. While the burger itself was undeniably tasty, there was one significant flaw that marred the overall enjoyment: the bottom bun was disappointingly soggy. This unexpected dampness detracted from an otherwise satisfying meal, leaving us wishing for a firmer base to complement the juicy patty.
However, it wasn't all gloom and soggy buns at Crush. The staff members responsible for greeting and seating guests were exemplary in their service. Despite our brief detour to inquire about another restaurant, they graciously provided us with directions and made us feel welcome upon our return. Their warmth and hospitality certainly contributed positively to our dining experience.
In terms of beverages, Crush didn't disappoint. The drinks offered were not only refreshing but also boasted a delightful array of flavors. Whether it was a signature cocktail or a simple soda, each sip added a pleasant note to the meal.
Overall, Crush Restaurant offers a mixed experience. While the Angus Burger was flavorful, the soggy bottom bun was a notable drawback. Nevertheless, the exceptional service provided by the staff and the delicious drink selection help to balance out the shortcomings. With a bit of attention to detail, particularly regarding burger assembly, Crush has the potential to elevate its dining experience to...
