This is my first experience here to Las Vegas and MGM Grand. Decided to come back from a show and have a glass of water and then maybe a few drinks with my group before retiring to our rooms. We chose whiskey down and I was the first one there. I asked for a water and Martha my waitress rolled her eyes at me and never came back. I could see her serve everyone else around me and I saw her continually look at me. She even walked behind the bar and continued to talk to people & purposely not serve me. Don't know what that was all about, I had just arrived and asked for a water when she asked me if I needed something to drink. Horrible service! No excuse to treat someone that way just because they are drinking water and not liquor. I had my money out to tip her and I assume that she thought because I was asking for water I would not be tipping nor did she realize that I there was a group of people but because of her actions this cost their establishment our business. Avoid the aggravation and go somewhere else to get your late...
Read moreI walked in feeling happy and in a good mood. After trying to order a drink from a bartender named Karina, my mood quickly changed to frustrated and disappointed. I greeted her and she said something snarky to which I took as a joke and laughed. Apparently, she wasn't joking. After I order a drink from her she started slamming different things around such as throwing empty bottles in the collection bin with extra force to intentionally break them. After her aggressive episode she just stood there behind the bar not doing anything. She never communicated that she didn't want to make the drink I ordered. I didnt take it personally because her problems are her own, but I just wrote this review to warn other people about her. She wears dark framed eye glasses and looks to be about late thirties. Stay away from her if you don't want to deal with a bad attitude for no reason. The other bartenders seemed like decent people. However, I can't expect much from this establishment if they are willing to keep people like...
Read moreThis was a total disappointment. I read about it first and thought I would be able to do whiskey tasting, as in the photos, but they told me they no longer did that. They told me they had no list of whiskeys as they "Kept changing." There was no way to make selections as there was no list and the bottles were too far behind the bar to read the labels. The bartender tried to tell me what they had by turning his back on me and softly reading the names into his face mask while loud music played. They did not even have Macallan. Billed as smoking friendly, I wanted to smoke a cigar, but they told me they had no matches. The number of bottles indicated to me they had a pretty poor selection of scotches.
I have been to really good whiskey bars in America as well as Scotland. I know what should happen. At Craigellachie in Scotland, they have 800 different scotches, and they maintain a list. This place should be able to do so.
There were only a few people in this...
