So, I've been too all of the big Brazilian Steakhouses (Texas Brazil, Fogo and now Galpao) I know my food lol.
Lets start with the "salad" bar. This is the weakest part of the experience here. Its rather lackluster, the soup was watery and flavorless. The salad looked like a pre-made packaged salad from Smiths.. and the meats looked sad. (This was at there dinner time, at 5.. 30 minutes after they open) it just was not on par with Fogo or Texas.
Now, onto the service. Maybe this was because it wasn't extremely busy. But they servers/waiter were extremely attentive. Never went without water or a clean plate, which was nice. Sometimes they seemed bored and would check on us. It was a little too much, but I prefer too much instead of too little.
Price - 52$ for lunch 72$ for dinner (this I consider steep compared to the other options available)
The meats - The ribeye was the most flavorful dish we had, it was juicy, cooked to perfection and had a delicious seasoning. (Best dish of the three restaurants)
The lamb chops were fantastic, full of really tangy flavor, and cooked to perfection. Extremely juicy and the second dish of the night. (Better than Fogo/Texas)
Spicy pichana was not only spicy, but it had a delicious seasoning on it that was al pastor-esqe. (Better than Fogo/Texas)
Bottom sirloin was less flavorful in terms of the crust, but the meats texture was delightful. (Pretty on par with the others)
Filet Mignon was, just alright. Wasnt anything to write about here honestly. (Worse than Fogo/Texas)
Pork Ribs - Messy, but the flavor on these were surprisingly good. I thought the flavor was going to be subtle but man, these were something else. (Better than Fogo/Texas)
Beef Ribs - These were hands down better than Texas De Brazil, I thought those could not be beaten.. but these had a better texture and less fat than Texas. The Char on these was perfect. Loved it.
Chicken - The chicken dishes I personally pass on at these places, not worth the money. Also, they are usually dry.
Seafood -
Shrimp - These were good, but it stops there. They just weren't special by any means.
It was my gals birthday and they gave us a choice of the desserts, she chose Molten Lava cake
Lava cake - The Lava cake didn't have much Lava, but my gal is a dessert snob, and she said this was the best of the three restaurants.. so ill take her word for it.
All in all, this is my personal vote for the best Churrascaria in vegas.. and I am pleasantly surprised about this gem. I will say that at the end of the meal, I felt that I didn't "waste" money or that it wasn't worth...
Read more.. Been to this restaurant multiple times, it had quickly become a favorite of my partner and I. We always bring our friends and family when they visit. We come for Christmas, for new years and birthdays. Today we brought a friend of ours visit for the first time. We booked through open table as usual, left a note for cooked preference on the meats, as usual. Upon arrival, the waitress had a hand written note about our preference, the server we were initially sat with had the note but insisted we would have to tell each person who brought us meats to try that we would have to tell them our preferences. This kicked off a series of quickly unraveling unpleasantries. We ordered the strawberry Brazilian lemonade, again.. as usual, it takes a while to come out but this time it took over 20 minutes to get to our table. When we ordered we let the server know we would wait to start eating till our drinks came. This again is just something we do. While we were waiting the same waiter who told us we would have to inform each meat server of our cooked preference kept insisting I turn my card to green so I could get meets. To the point where I felt I had to get aggressive in my response back. By this point we had been sitting and waiting. A waitress came by and asked how things where I told her they had been very mediocre, I had lost my appetite, I had yet to eat or get my drink and I asked to be taken off the bill as I wouldn't be eating. They sent a customer relations manager over who kept asking me to explain what was wrong. But as soon as I would try and explain any of the pain points he would begin to talk over me. The whole experience was very frustrating. I stopped trying to talk with the man as my partner and I brought a guest and wanted him to still enjoy. When I told the man this he said "it's a new year, and I'm tryin to help but if that's what you want then fine." And aggressively cleared my plates and utensils. Which was fine, but I told him and the waitress before had I didn't want a scene and that's exactly what he caused. After being a fan and coming consistently for over 3 years this will be our last visit. The original waiter never checked back in, the manager avoided the table but kept stoping at tables around us. And the whole situation kicked our NYE morning off on a very poor note. Highly let down with the staff, the management and the...
Read moreWe went to dine at Galpão Gaucho as a party of six. From the moment we walked in, we received a hostile attitude from the hostesses. We gave the name of our reservation and walked down the almost empty restaurant and were guided to a round table next to the wall at the very end of the dining area with some of the chairs against the wall to where you barely had room to squeeze into the seat we didn't like that so we requested a different table with more room because clearly the restaurant had plenty of empty tables. (Had they been slammed busy, and that was the only table - we get it, we would have taken it) We then got taken back all the way to the front door to then walk us to a table right behind the hostesses station (the table was much better) we then proceeded to help ourselves at the salad bar and no complaints about the salad area and its options at all. It was actually quite beautiful. We got back to the table, and a couple of people flipped their cards to green to start with the meat service, and the gauchos started to basically throw meat on our of our plates. It didn't matter if you were on red and some on green. The meat was chewie, and the beef rib that was forced on our plates was tasteless. They continued this until finally. They stopped bringing meat, and we requested top sirloin (Medium Rare) for one of the guys in the table and lamb chops, and they never brought the lamb chops but brought rare picacha so we asked to have it cooked Medium rare to then have a gaucho come out with the burnt picanha (I mean WELL, WELL, WELL DONE ) couple of chunks of meat- so we were furious at that point because it seemed as if were asking for a free plate of food and they were feeding us whatever they wanted because of it which was NOT the case so finally we spoke up and called the guys out who brought the meat like that - the gaucho- and who seemed to be the manager simply watched but never approached our table to oversee what was happening. Out of this whole experience, we rescued the salad bar (which is sad being a STEAK HOUSE ) and finally one server that approached our table at the end to serve us a carajillo and who was very polite and charismatic but other than that, the whole experience prior to that was pretty awful for...
