I've said it before and I'll say it again; despite all the global turmoil that we are currently living through, we live in a golden, magical age for chicken sandwich lovers. Having never been a particular fan of hamburgers, I look back on the days of my youth where the chicken sandwich at Dairy Queen was the gold standard of fast food chicken sandwiches and frankly, the only viable option in my former home state of WA. That all seems very quaint now as there are fantastic options nearly everywhere I go. If you see me at the Dairy Queen with a sandwich in my hand, it's purely for nostalgic reasons. They're still OK but there are so many better options, I still haven't even been able to try them all yet. One of my best buddies, who is also a chicken lover, was in town for a visit and he wanted to try a new spot so I recommended this. We headed down to the Cosmopolitan where Hattie B's is located and got in the very long line.

To their credit, they moved through the line pretty quickly. Not "Chik-fil-a quickly" but respectable by most other standards. We ordered some sandwiches and strips with some sides and it was all very good. The chicken was moist and tender and the sides were mostly very tasty. From a personal preference standpoint, I prefer North Towne Chicken but I think that's purely subjective. The greens at NTC are definitely better but so far as the chicken is concerned, I just personally prefer the sauce that comes on NTC's sandwiches. It has a hint of sweetness to it that I feel balances the flavor better but if you like straight heat, this will be awesome for you. I certainly liked it just fine and will eat it whenever there is an...

I specifically sought out this restaurant to get macaroni and cheese and french fries for my kids because I knew that they were foods that my kids would actually eat.

I got two orders of the French fries and two orders of the Mac and cheese and an order of fried pickles, because I love fried pickles. You pretty much cannot eat fried pickles without ranch, and their ranch is pretty good. You get one packet of sauce with the order, any other packet is an additional fifty cent. I'm pretty picky about ranch and it was one of the better ranches! The crinkle fries were good as well-- hot and fresh just the way fries should be. Their shining star is the mac and cheese which was creamy, thick and filling. I'd go back for that alone.

We got their lemonade, and it was not kid friendly for one reason or another. I didn't think it was bad. We got their iced tea as an Arnold Palmer as well, and that was actually pretty good.

Their service was very quick from the time I ordered and found a place to sit, our order was essentially ready for pick up. Maria (easy for me to remember her name since it's my own as well) deserves a shout out for her great customer service, because she explained everything quickly for me and even tried to find out if the chicken was halal (it is not). But still- I feel like in the land of tourism, you don't have to have the same customer service level, because more often than not, they would only see their customers a couple of times at most- but she went above and beyond. I would...

I wanted to try out something different. I read the description and menu which described spicy southern fried chicken. I anticipated good southern fried chicken. When I got there I had to wait in line . That was negative no. 1 for me. About 5 minutes wait. Finally my turn came up. I ordered and the display asked for a tip. A tip for what is essentially fast food? That was negative number 2. I paid a tip bc it is essentially black mail. Isn't it? I ended paying over $20 just for the food, no drink. It was so incredibly noisy I opted to take out. After getting through the maze I finally got to taste the alleged southern fried chicken. What did it taste like? A bad version of KFC. Popeyes, chick fillet, and KFC have superior chicken. It what I get fur trying to support the little independents. It was way over cooked, dry and flavorless. The portion was okay, but the taste was bad. It was fall off the bone next to smashed potatoes texture and no flavor. That was negative number 3. Finally negative number 4 came 30 minutes later. I got a mild stomach ache and diarrhea about 30 minutes later. I was very angry. I paid the dam bribe, why did get dirty man handled chicken that was obviously handled with dirty hands? You could say it could have been something else, except it was my one and only meal for the day. I am not in Vegas very often, but it's now on my dont visit list. They have 4 things they need to fix before I will...
