I want to give this two stars... But I can't bring myself to. Went for breakfast here since it was in the hotel and my mother and uncle didn't feel like leaving and the collective thought was "eh, it's breakfast, you can't really screw up breakfast can you". Turns out you can. TL:DR version: avoid this place. Go somewhere else. If you head to the Linq you can have hash house which actually makes delicious food and giant, shareable portions for this same price.
First, we were seated near the host desk. You'd think we would be served or at least have someone grab drinks for us quickly, as we are in view of no less than 3 employees constantly. You would be incorrect.
Next, prices. Yes yes, I know it's Vegas. But for an "all American breakfast" of eggs, hashed browns and toast they get something like $15-17. It's an extra 2.50 if you want sausage or bacon. For the 3 of us our bill came to over $70 for 3 coffees and 3 plates.
The cost could easily be forgiven if the food was great. It wasn't. It wasn't even good. My uncles scrambled eggs were rubbery and overcooked. The bacon... How to describe the bacon. Cooked totally to the point of looking crispy, but instead of crunching and snapping as you take a bite into it, having an oddly strange resistance and chew to it (and not tasting of quality bacon at all. Oscar Meyer at the store is higher quality than this bacon.)
Hashed browns hadn't been seasoned at all (not a touch of salt or pepper or anything). Mine, which I foolishly didn't order extra crispy had only the thinnest layer of crunch potato on top of a pile of shredded potato mush. My eggs benedict well... It was edible because of the two parts that they didn't have to think about, the eggs and the ham. Poached eggs were a bit over cooked (the whites were pretty chewy, but at least the centers were still runny), and the ham was the only thing with flavor on the plate. The "hollandaise" was a joke, no acidity or salt or anything. Just a thick coat of nothingness over the the top. Oh and the English muffin. Not a bit of crispy left in it by the time it got to the table, except on the giant section of the one that they burned.
Did I mention a cup of coffee was 4.50 here? For drip coffee. At least you get the carafe so you don't have to wait on a server to refill it. We also had at least three different people wait on us too. It's not like they were busy at the time, and we didn't request to be seated where we were put so I can't say that it's because we were in a closed station.
All I can say is this place would not survive if it weren't in the hotel. And even it being in the hotel, I hope it doesn't survive...
Read moreThis restaurant is located within Treasure Island Hotel and Resorts. My husband and I woke up famished while on vacation and decided to give them a try. I wasn't expecting much but was really pleasantly surprised. Come on let's talk about it.
We arrived and were seated almost immediately. My husband being the "jokester" he is, asked our server Alejandro for a Long Island Iced Tea. He smiled and said "I Got You!" 🤣 My husband was taken a back a bit and said "Are you serious?" He said sure we have a full bar in the back. I laughed so hard and told my husband "Yep you've met yo match." We placed our drink order, no alcohol (yet) and proceeded to view the menu.
Cassandra our server for the remainder of our visit came over. She was very pleasant, extremely personable and assisted us in placing our food order. She made wonderful suggestions on areas we should visit while in town. We really enjoyed meeting and talking with her.
Our food arrived and it was just what we wanted. I ordered the Traditional Breakfast with Sourdough toast, crispy bacon and crispy potatoes. My husband ordered an omelet with bacon, Chorizo, green peppers, cheese and I'm not sure what else. It all looked great and tasted even better. It was cooked specifically to our individual requests. We couldn't have been happier with our meals.
Cassandra came back to check on us and we told her about a negative experience we had in another establishment within the resort. She informed her manager Corey about it. He came over personally and apologized, even though it wasn't his restaurant, let us know he would be providing the feedback to the manager of that restaurant to address and offered to treat us to a drink the next time we came to his restaurant to visit during our stay. I so appreciated him acknowledging our experience and doing what he could to address it.
Larry came over to assist in clearing our table and he had the best smile and demeanor. You can tell Cassandra, Alejandro, Larry and Corey all work flawlessly as a team to take care of their customers and provide them with excellent experiences. Thank you for keeping stellar customer service alive!
Check them out and tell them...
Read moreIt's a clean place to eat breakfast, that's really all I can say that is good. Our waitress did not greet us or introduce herself, she just said "Are you ready to order?" She was just generally initially unpleasant. I asked her a question (Can you "substitute the hash browns for the fruit bowl?" - to which she said yes, but then it turned out was a no.) She got irritated at me when I tried to order an omelet w/a fruit bowl instead of hash browns then, even when I reminded her she had just told me I could sub it out)... then she hit my menu with her pen telling me I was pointing to the menu option for an egg white omelet, when I was pointing to the picture of the fruit bowl.... Just rude and short-tempered all around. Did not offer alternatives (like to tell me I could order the fruit bowl separately for $8). Then she got my order wrong - forgot the American cheese I asked for on my omelet and charged me for an extra order of bell peppers instead. We also noticed that - with a create your own omelet, you choose 2 items to put in it, but she charged us after 1 item on the first omelet. She did not make any flavor of eye contact with us (no one there seemed to, as we waited a while trying to flag anyone down, including a manager), but eventually my bf got up to get her and show her I had no cheese. She said she would go get a manager (?!) and then came back (w/o the manager) to say I would not be charged for the cheese b/c it was her mistake... But she did not catch that she double-charged me for bell peppers (so I effectively paid for it anyway), OR that she overcharged is for my bfs omelet). I was so frustrated with the service and her demeanor at that point that I left a super crappy tip with a note on my experience on the receipt. To pay $21 for a very meh omelet that was not even as I wanted it and bad service... If you are staying at Treasure Island, find another place to eat .. the bad service isn't worth it.
Oh, and you cannot offer take out, it's dine-in only, so you can't even skip the...
