Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016 my Husband and I visited the Wasatch Brew Pub Park City, UT. I am a Vegan my husband, do occasionally eat meat, but trying to become a vegetarian. All said, after an approx. 30 + -- wait, the server took our food order. It was down hill from there on... we waited nearly 45 minutes for my superfood beet salad, burger for my husband...yes, a small food order. Here's the clincher...the superfood beet salad was all greens, minus arugula as advertised... just kale and collard greens, 6 blueberries, 12 tiny yellow beet pieces and 4 tiny red beet pieces. The menu stated the beet salad was a superfood beet salad, LOL. hardly any beets, no nuts, no presentation, and worst... the dressing was grill grease...NOT the red wine vinaigrette per the menu. My husband tasted a sample of my salad and confirmed grill grease was used. Of course, I complained and was comped the $13.00 salad cost; but with no apology. I asked the server to inform the "Chef"...and I doubt there was even a Chef on duty...only raw, untrained, line cooks . I was very upset with not knowing if the grill grease contained animal fat or some other cheap oils. The male server who tabled our food order, was honest enough to state ...our order was overlooked by kitchen staff; therefore just slapped together helter skelter to get it to us. In retrospect, my Husband and I should have walked. I could not eat this salad....one bite ended it for me.
I attentatively listened to diners state their brews were not the "best" . .. and overheard a young couple dining at a table nearby say their fish was oil soaked.. yuk. As a vegan, I write about vegan/vegetarian food... exotic foods and the standard salads, soups and vegan desserts... giving praise and kudos to restaurants who also understand the vegan, vegetarian growing culture. The Wasatch Brew Pub chef and line cooks including all staff, must acquire a better knowledge of vegan/vegetarian food if they are purposely advertising such fares on their menu. Furthermore, this Pub should really try to meet the quality and quantity of indregients advertised as their menu's food selections.
In closing, a tip re the superfood beet salad, I recommend managers sending the Wasatch cooking staff to the Salt Lake City Restaurant named The Blue Lemon to see and sample their Superfood Beet Salad. This would be a great starting base for the Wasatch staff to learn how to improve and present the Wasatch Brew Pub superfood beet salad to their customers making it on par with The Blue Lemon beet salad. The Blue Lemon rocks it's superfood beet salad!
As a travel writer (international), in all honesty, after my awful experience recommend the Wasatch Brew Pub as a dining establishment to the general public; especially not to my vegan/vegetarian...

I took my wife, daughter, mother in law here for a new years celebration. We were going to meet 3 other family members at Wasatch. We walked in and asked for a table for seven. The Manager immediately came to the hostess area and asked if all of our party was here. My wife indicated we were meeting 3 other family members, but we all were driving from Salt Lake. The manager very abruptly said “ we don’t seat you if your whole party isn’t here” His tone was very abrasive, but we sat down and proceeded to wait. in the meantime serval other large parties were seated. The hostess was kind enough to go ask the waiter if it was ok to seat our party based on the circumstances (very nice hostess). We were seated, ordered drinks, several appetizers and were enjoying the evening when the manager approached our table and asked how long until the rest of our party was here. My wife indicated they were fighting traffic, but expected within the next 10 minutes. He was clearly irritated that we had been seated. At this point, my wife was very upset, but we let it go. The manager approached the table 5 min later and screamed “ THIS IS WHY WE DON’T DO THIS” My wife asked him, do what? he said “seat half parties! Now I have 2 parties of seven that I cant seat because of you” This was done in front of the entire restaurant. We were all in shock and embarrassed. My wife actually asked the manager if it would be best if we just left and the manager just walked away shaking his head. The rest of our party arrived shortly after and we spent about 400$
I am disgusted by the managers behavior. We were so embarrassed. Other patrons were looking at us in shock as well. I am a local, (Salt Lake City) successful business owner and would NEVER treat my customers this way. My wife was in tears and all of this took place in front of my 13 year old daughter. We will never be back to this restaurant, but appreciated the hostess trying to do her best to correct the horrible behavior of...
Read moreTL;DR - come for the beer, but steer clear of the food.
I was with a group of ten at 5:30 on a Friday night. It was not yet busy when we placed our orders. We made it clear as the waitress was taking our orders how the checks were to be split up. The first beer order went well then we placed our meal order after the beers were delivered. I’m only going to mention the three entrees that were definitely screwed up. I ordered the rare seared ahi tuna salad, my friend ordered the Wasatch burger, and his wife ordered the steak sandwich. When the food was brought to the table, I immediately sent mine back as the tuna had been cooked through completely. I did not think to take a photo as I was trying to make sure I got the attention of someone to make the correction. My friend’s Wasatch burger was overcooked, and his wife’s steak sandwich had no discernible amount of horseradish on it, but was otherwise good. The other meals seemed to be alright, yet overpriced. The second round of beers were incorrect, so they went to the bar to get the correct beer as the waitress was very inattentive. I ordered the beermisu at the same time as the second beer order, yet it took nearly 20 minutes to come out. When it did, I was greatly disappointed as it was a very small portion compared to comparably priced offerings elsewhere, and looks to have been quickly dished out and was missing a portion from it’s bottom—see attached photo. Then when it was time to pay the checks, NONE of them were correct, and we had to fix them. We were very clear at the beginning how they were to be split, yet the waitress could not handle it.
I am sad we gave them a chance as we are all in from out of town, but this was a let down of a meal. If you’re in from out of town, grab the beer from the cooler as it is all very good and the only reason I gave them 2 stars, but do not...
