Don't waste your time or money. Let me start by saying I should've left like my gut was telling me. I'm also trying to be generous by giving 2 stars it was more like 1 1/2.

Visited on a Thursday morning and was sat at the bar. I feel like from there that's when it all went down hill. The restaurant was full and it felt like the bar area was abandoned. Finally after sitting and sitting and sitting some more we finally had a confused server come our way. (Confused because she didn't know which party she was supposed to help). She finally took our drink orders which actually came out quick ( regular hot coffee). Upon receiving our coffee we notice we have no utensils (kinda need a spoon to stir in sugar/cream) so we asked the server for utensils. We're handed 1 set of utensils that was in the corner of the bar area and was promised a return of another set shortly. Sitting and sitting and still sitting my hot coffee is getting cold because we only had the 1 utensil and guess what even that was dirty with old food residue on it. At this point I start to count the minutes that I'm sitting not being able to at least enjoy a coffee while I wait. As my personal time limit started to approach partner gets the attention of another server helping the party next to us and ask him for utensils.

We went with a basic breakfast which was served within a decent time. My waffle was served on a plate that barely fit it, couldn't understand why it was served on a saucer instead of an actual dinner plate. Anyways, it tasted alright but was overpriced in my opinion. I also ordered a side of bacon I paid $5.50 for 3 strips which I personally felt was overpriced as well. My partner had french toast and a side if eggs, everything tasted alright but definitely nothing to write he about and I expected better considering the previous reviews, prices and location. Now I understand in heavily populated tourist areas prices are sometimes up there. However, we left feeling that we had overpaid for something I could've just gotten from our hotel breakfast. Personally I also feel that this establishment can't handle a full restaurant as I felt "forgotten" about pretty much the whole visit.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place to anyone. All I can recommend is that you take your money and start looking elsewhere for breakfast options.

The best part of the whole ordeal was that I didn't have to pay for parking and also there's a nice souvenir...

I used to really love this place. They do an amazing breakfast. But I have to tell about Sunday morning 11/06/2022 that left a horrible taste in my mouth. We went to have breakfast to celebrate my daughter birthday around 11am, and were being served by a waitress named Miranda!!!! Her service was bad since the beginning. She brought the check we paid literally after I paid she sent someone from the back, the dishwasher came up to my husband talking in Spanish and rudely ask him to quiet and control our daughter and, asked us to leave NOW!!!! They skipped the chain of command as we would of preferred the restaurant manager to speak to us not a DISHWASHER . It ruined our day out because they had no right and embarrassed us in front of the whole restaurant . The waitress asked the dishwasher Eric to tell us in Spanish when we all speak English very good. Why did she sent the dishwasher to tell us to get out? Why not her? It was because she saw the tip we gave her of $68 us not caring about her BAD SERVICE. We asked her was going on? She then proceeded to act like she didn’t know where he came from but in reality she was the one that asked the Hispanic guy to tell us that assuming we didn’t speak English . This restaurant staff is discriminatory. If you have a family with kids don’t come here . They do not tolerate kids . They do not tolerate Hispanic people nor, family’s. From the moment Miranda started taking our order she was rude and was giving my family bad looks . We were discriminated against and will be having our lawyers look into this . How can this restaurant staff discriminate against a family that is bringing business to them . THE WORST customer service . They do not know what that stands for but forget that , they DISCRIMINATE against certain people . RACISM should not stand specially in Main Street . People from all around the world comes to Park City I would not recommend this restaurant to nobody. Also they scam you with the tip so be very aware . We will be escalating this and like I’ve stated before IT...

My review for December 10, 2024 at around 4pm.

Walked in because I saw they served coffee. Just wanted to grab a to go cup. The lady, I'd say mid 40's, had a great attitude and said the coffee was cold but she could make me an americana. I asked her if I could pay with cash because I needed to break a $20, and she said it was no problem. Asked her for small bills so I can tip all the shuttles I had been taking to get around. The coffee cost was 4.95 but she didn't have change so she gave me $16 back. Basically charged me only $4. So far, this was such a pleasant experience...BUT that all changed after she hands me my coffee. I see her look down at the bar, look back and forth, put her hands up in a bewildered gesture and had the audacity to say, "What, no tip?" I don't know the manners in Park City, but everywhere else I've ever been, asking, no, demanding a tip is ubiquitousaly a no-no. I thought about handing her the coffee back and asking for my money to be returned, but the kind angel on my shoulder won that battle. I put $2 on the bar and walked out. Congratulations, you earned a one dollar tip and a negative review!

It is worth mentioning that I think this is literally my first time ever leaving a negative review, in fact it may be my first review ever. Basically I am not a complainer, and am not leaving negative reviews all over the place.

Maybe I was wrong for not tipping in the first place, but I mean it was a coffee to go. The only extra service she technically gave was giving me change in small bills. I might add that she hardly did that as well. My change back was a $10 bill and 6 ones. Maybe mentioning why I needed small bills was a mistake, but hey I'm just an honest and transparent kind of person.

All in all demanding a tip is a grevious offense. For me at least, it warrants my decision to never go back to The Eating Establishment.

By the way, the...

A solid recommendation for breakfast/brunch. We visited Park City in late August, and The Eating Establishment was a strong recommendation from a friend who visits often. We knew we had to grab breakfast here to see what the hype is about. Park City's Main Street area is lined with restaurants with strong roots, I love to support local when traveling. We ate at the Eating Establishment on a Friday morning. We didn't wait long for a table even around 9am. I could tell that the restaurant is a family/locally owned, there was just a vibe - pleasant and welcome. Our waiter was Alfredo, and he was excellent. Our order what taken and delivered timely and warm. I ordered the Avocado Toast and my husband ordered the Biscuits & Gravy. We shared a Pancake as well! The salad that came with the avocado toast was delicious and refreshing. The pancake was soft, maybe a bit doughy, but still good. I'm a firm believer that it is difficult to mess up breakfast. Alfredo realized he forgot one of our beverages and he comped it on our bill and gave it to us to go. There is outdoor and indoor seating available. At least during the summer months I can confirm. Main Street has all sorts of dining decks for many of the restaurants along the street on both sides. Overall, I would say that The Eating Establishment did not disappoint, and I would recommend it for breakfast or brunch - perhaps a nice Sunday Funday spot!
