Our guest from Utah and Florida had a great time with Local Food Walking Tours at Tekila Mexican Grill & Cantina. From the moment we stepped in, we knew we were in for a treat. Our host with Black Cowboy hat really made this a memorable experience. The ambiance of the restaurant instantly set the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable dining experience. The highlight of our visit, without a doubt, was the exceptional quality of the food. Each dish we tried was a testament to the chef's expertise and passion for Mexican cuisine. The flavors were authentic, bold, and perfectly balanced, making every bite an adventure for our taste buds. What truly elevated our experience, however, was the unparalleled service provided by our host. His warmth, attentiveness, and deep knowledge of the menu and tekila tasting made us feel not just welcomed, but truly special. He expertly guided us through the menu, sharing stories behind the dishes and offering personalized recommendations that delighted us. The combination of exquisite food and heartfelt hospitality at Tequila Mexican Grill & Cantina left an indelible mark on us. It's rare to find a place that not only serves excellent cuisine but also makes you feel like part of the family. We left with full stomachs and even fuller hearts, I'm already planning the next visit for Local Food Walking Tours. If you're in search of an authentic Mexican culinary experience where the food is outstanding and the service is top-notch, look no further than Tequila Mexican Grill. It's not just a meal; it's a celebration of flavors and friendships. A solid 5-star recommendation for anyone wanting to indulge in the best Mexican cuisine the Park City has to offer. For those intrigued by the prospect of exploring more culinary gems and experiences like this, I highly recommend checking out Local Food Walking Tours. I offer a diverse range of tours that cater to various tastes and preferences, promising an immersive journey into local culture and history through food. It may look like your average neighborhood Mexican restaurants, but Tekila Bar and grill is everything and awesome! I wandered in with two friends on a Friday night, and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and incredible aroma of Grilled steak. The restaurant was filling up quickly (it was almost 7:00 pm) but we managed to snag a table. We ordered the Chile con queso on the appetizer menu and a side of guacamole with their tasty pico de gallo to share along side with some great tasting magharitas. We also ordered the carne Asada entree which came with their creamy delicious guacamole spicy sauce on the side. The salsa verde on the side has a spicy kick to it, it was delicious. When our entree arrived, our expectations continued to be exceeded. The steak was crispy, flavorful, and chewy. The toppings worked together beautifully. The rice and beans were packed with flavor. By the end of the meal we were planning our next visit. The manager on duty checked on us a few times and made sure we were doing alright. Don’t let appearances fool you—the decor may be divey, but the meals are fantastic. This place is perfect for groups or a casual date night. And our server, her name is esmeralda, she took good care of us. We were happy with the service. I absolutely recommend!

First of all, the food here is delicious. Second of all, our online ordering and take out experience was terrible. When we arrived, the hostess looked at us like she had no idea there was an order to be picked up. We then waited an additional 30 minutes, workers avoiding us, and not many people coming into dine. When we talked to the manager after we had been waiting an extra 20 minutes she tried to make it right by giving us 2 free tokens for appetizers and 1 free entree; the problem is we don't live in PC. The confirmation email said the pickup time may not be exact, which we understood; however, we felt that our order wasn't seen until we got there to pick it up, and rather than accommodating us we were just given excuses. In the end, we weren't taken care of. Again, the food won't disappoint. Dining in may offer a better experience. If you want take out, try calling in to place an order and if they don't answer your 3 attempts at calling, don't order from their website... speaking from experience.

I don't believe I have ever given a 3-star review, but the only reason I am giving more than 2 is because the cooks were the best part of our experience. The cooks, in fact, might have been the only people worried about their job or responsibilities in the entire restaurant. The food came out all at once; everything was really delicious; looked great; and wasn't unreasonably large proportions. The other nice part to the experience was their legitimate tequila menu with great options: the Clase Azul was phenomenal. Beyond those nice factors, the main reason I'm even writing this is because during our annoying experience, our server was apparently training a new employee. I don't want to be mean towards anyone in the service industry, but not a single server I saw working today should have been qualified to train someone new. I will not use names because ultimately the person to be held responsible for our experience is whoever the on-shift manager was. Unfortunately, I can't tell you who that would be because they never made themselves present or known. My party did get sat fast and water was at our table right away, but everything else after that was asked for took work to receive. We asked 3 times for lemon to be told on the third time "we only have lime"; we had to ask for appetizer plates and extra napkins; we had to ask for water refills; and we only saw the server when they brought things out, they never checked back or did rounds to clear plates. If they had been busy, there would have been nothing to be upset about. But the most tables they had while we eat was 11 small tables all on the patio. The only people that were inside was the staff, very apparently not in visual range of their tables, talking gossip, and at one point 4 servers were actively sitting down rolling silverware together.. I have years of experience in this industry so you don't need to tell me about "side work." But I will tell you how many people need to be rolling silverware during slower operational hours: 1. On top of bad service and being slow, they were overstaffed (even with a trainee). I wanted to take this restaurant seriously as I'm a tequila drinker and a fan of finer dining, and on top of that it's at the top of Main Street Park City. But unfortunately, I'm actually disappointed in this establishment because it's obvious that the problems start from the top and trickle down into the staff. Hopefully this constructive criticism can help them fine tune their efforts, but I wouldn't want return here unless I was going to sit right down at the bar and drink tequila.

Edit: I wanted to clarify that every staff member was polite and friendly. The experience I'm detailing here is completely about how this establishment was operating during my first...

What a joke! The service here was awful! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! We didn't get any silverware for a very long time and never got real napkins. Our waiter never once checked in on us. Eventually we got silverware (after our food arrived and after asking 3 times & 3 different employees) but no napkins still (we were given cocktail napkins, but other tables clearly had real napkins and we asked twice for these) Our food came out very sporadically, and our drink order arrived well after our food. Our table's waters were attempted to be refilled once, but the server only refilled one glass when other glasses were clearly empty. When we were finally ready to leave, we received one check and asked to split it. At first it was only okay if we weren't doing cash, which we weren't. We were told to ask our waiter and when we asked him he said okay let me go see. When he came back we were told our check could not be split because they don't split for parties bigger than 6. We were never informed of this prior, nor was there any signage anywhere indicating this. We were only a party of 5 adults and 1 child, with only 4 checks; so also not bigger than 6, and when I told the waiter this he backtracked immediately. But somehow magically they don't split for parties of 6 still and he stuck to it. It was very apparent to us their refusal was out of laziness, as it would be absurd to not be able to split it to 4 checks. For the price and other options in Park City, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I'd only recommend here as a last resort, as the food was good, but basically average and nowhere near good enough to out-weigh the absolutely horrendous and petty service...
