I came to this location expecting to enjoy a good meal but, unfortunately, couldn’t order. My friends and I arrived in the area where we weren’t immediately greeted by a worker and waited about five minutes before someone came and greeted us. At this point, the young lady who greeted us asked how many were in our party, to which we replied four, and we requested to be seated in a booth. She explained they had just cleared a booth and we’d have to wait. We had no issue with that. We all sat in the waiting area; an older Caucasian couple walked in, and they were then greeted and seated within minutes. About five minutes go by, still waiting, then a group of three young Caucasian ladies walks in, wait about three minutes, and, like the previous couple, are greeted and seated. I then stood up to see what type of seats they received; there was no request on seat choice, no question of how many in the party, just the immediate seating in a booth, no less! I began to question why we hadn't been seated yet. She explained there was a spill where she planned on seating us and walked us to the booth she chose; we were displeased with the seating choice. It was in a dimly lit corner behind the workers' area. There was a caution sign, and the spill she mentioned earlier was poorly cleaned up, and we didn't want to sit there as we ate our meals. We requested to be seated in another booth where the other young ladies from earlier were just seated. She tells us how they were just seated there, and it would be hard on the server. But if that booth was available when the young ladies came, it should have gone to us as we arrived first and requested that specific kind of seating area. Not only that, but I also noticed the couple from earlier was also seated in a booth area. So, how did we draw the short end of the stick? If we arrived first. She complied with our requests, but after everything, we couldn't even sit and enjoy the ruined experience. I'm writing this on my way to the Cedar Knolls location, and I hope...
Read moreI love IHOP. Over the past year, the service has been horrible. We went this past Wednesday. My wife asked the waitress if she knew what was covered under the $6.00 special, and she snapped back it's there, can't you see it. From what we recalled, there were 4 selections, and now it's down to 2. My wife asked what does the burger came with, and she said it's a burger. You can add cheese and beacon to it. The wife selected a diner instead, and the order was still not right. We go to the Parsippany location. Perhaps it's time to look for another.
Update:
I brought my family to IHOP last night to give them another try, and it was $5.00, all you can eat pancakes 🥞 😋 so I had to go. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The waitress and staff were very friendly and attentive. They asked if we needed anything several times. The food was brought out quickly. It appears that the staff has changed for the better. There was an older gentleman who appeared to not speak English well, but he was helpful nonetheless. It's great that IHOP hired this person. He may not know the English language yet, but his positive adidtude will help him well. As a result of my great experience, I'll be back next week, and I hope others come as well. The food is much better than any fast-food chain and the price won't empty...
Read moreI went to ihop Parsippany last weekend with my daughter and my son to celebrate my birthday and I requested one of my favorite servers right there. And the girl who was bringing me to the table told me she was not working that day, then I requested another server who I know as well and she rejected to sitting us in his section so I requested to talk with the manager because I just want to celebrate my birthday and get a table with the server who I feel comfortable with and she told me he was so busy and she can’t not bring him, she gave an attitude and she literally just ignored me….. I asked her for her name. Her name is Yessenia….. listen I’m a frequently customer in IHOP Parsippany, we always celebrate our holidays and special events right there and I don’t think I deserve to be threatened like that specially in my birthday… unfortunately it’s not the first time that I have this kind of issues with the same girl, I don’t know her but I feel she’s kind of racist with me and my kids and I prefer just chose another ihop location for my next visits. I don’t want any food or invitations for free but I hope my review help other customers to don’t have more bad experiences...
